The corporatewear market can still be split into five segments. These are:

* workwear;
* careerwear;
* corporate casualwear;
* uniforms;
* protective clothing.

The dividing lines between them are becoming ever more blurred. It is no longer possible to be categorical about where workwear ends and protectivewear begins. To most people a standard boilersuit made of poly/cotton is workwear. But if the fabric is impregnated with chemical dyes which make it reflect light, and it therefore becomes a hi

This is the fourth edition of just-style's best-selling denim and jeanswear market review. Consumer, brand and retail market themes are considered but unavoidably from the perspective of the current economic ‘credit crunch’ situation, and its effect on the fashion retail industry worldwide.

For the first time, the report contains an alternative and pessimistic scenario (in addition to the main market data provided) for the jeans market. In it the world market in 2009 will be US$3bn lower than our

In our experience, there are at least four different types of Sephora shoppers: the beauty guru spewing words like “consistency” and “pigmentation” at the sales clerk; the confused tourist buying
everything in sight; the skeptic complaining about the prices under her breath. Today’s target, however, is the monochromatic shopper. She’s usually in the early teens (just being introduced to makeup) or in the later years (with her daily makeup routine down to a science). These particular clients’ lip

What A “Diazzling” Display

See what I did there – like that title?!

Yes, the recent premiere of the film “Knight and Day” in Rio, was incredibly noisy, due to the sound of millions of camera shutters clicking and jaws hitting the floor.

The gorgeous blonde bombshell that is Cameron Diaz, didn’t let us down, with a simple LBD which somehow, magically transformed itself into a drop dead gorgeous outfit when draped over Cameron’s none too shabby figure.

See what I mean? A skinny model just wouldn’t have the same effect, but Cam

Know what? Maybe Sex and the City 2 was onto something. Although a particular scene in the last part of the movie made us gag (don’t worry—we won’t spoil anything), the flick did have a meaningful message: Fashion is universal. And now, the London College of Fashion is showing just that with their Faith and Fashion program that combines the modesty of Muslim dress with a designer’s love for fashion.

BioCouture: Growing Clothing in a Tub

We thought we’ve seen it all with eco-friendly clothes: from recycled plastic bottle suits to solar-powered bags by Diane von Furstenberg, it was only a matter of time before a designer turned to microscopic life forms for inspiration. That’s exactly what Suzanne Lee,a senior research fellow at the School of Fashion & Textiles at Central Saint Martins in London did. Although, she didn’t just turn to bacteria—she also used a few large tubs, some yeast, and a few cups of green tea. The result is
