BEAUTY BUZZ ~ Health Hair

BEAUTY BUZZ ~ Healthy Hair
Television and magazine advertisements would lead you to believe that you'll get healthy, gorgeous hair by using their innovative products alone. While it's partly true that the quality of the products you apply to your hair, as well as the styling tools and techniques you use will have an effect on the overall health, texture, and appearance of your hair, the bottom line is that healthy hair starts from the inside.

Like the rest of your body, your hair benefits greatly from proper nutrition an

Disco Queen.

With the passing of disco diva Donna Summer, I started thinking of the style she helped make so iconic. I didn't know much about Donna Summer the woman, but I knew her songs. I wasn't around in the Studio 54 days but I sure loved the style of the times. Miss. Summer, may you rest in peace. Let the style you set live long.

“Problematic Hair’ is a very broad term. The type of hair we are born with, in terms of color, texture etc. are generally genetically inherited. Some of us are naturally blessed with beautiful hair that makes it easy to maintain long tresses while some of us are always complaining about frizzy, oily hair that seems to be perpetually growing split ends.

The latter is at times associated with scalp problems that require to be tackled. Taking care of your hair and getting the beautiful locks you al

Healthy and beautiful hair stands out. In a crowd of fried, over-processed hair, nourished hair gets noticed. It's the perfect finishing touch for an overall polished and glamorous look.

Maintaining healthy and shining hair can be difficult. Most modern hair trends, like pin-straight hair or elaborate spiral curls, rely on harsh techniques to achieve the desired style. But with a few steps you can have a fashion forward hairstyle while maintaining your hair's health.

'Two Planets' by Maria Lau

That's So New YorkSince my Ax+Apple post around two weeks ago, my admiration for jewelry has heightened; I mean, the search for admirable jewelry designers has even managed to snatch itself a place on my "to do" list. Although I usually tend to hunt for the international among the local, recently I've come across a designer who is both local and international, meaning that the her London location would be considered local (seeming that London central is around forty/fifty minutes from me) yet

Modern American culture is a whimsical fabric indeed. Fads, fashions, and trends are in vogue one moment and forgotten the next. Crowds lose interest quickly in this rapid-fire internet era, and many once-popular items -- Furbys, LiveStrong bracelets, Survivor -- have gone the way of the Big Mouth Billy Bass.

Sure, every piece of pop culture will retain a legion of devoted followers, but only the greatest trends, activities, and peculiarities can remain relevant in any day and age. Our national p

Wet Hair Care Tips and Tricks

Charlotte-di-Calypso-by-Miles-Aldridge-for-VOGUE-Italia-2-560x745.jpg

from Benjamin Kanarek Blog

There are a few tips and tricks that many women underestimate when they get in and out of the shower, some maybe the solution to their problem.

When hair is wet it is the most fragile and vulnerable to breakage. Wet hair, should be treated with care almost like a 100 year old piece of lace, this is because your hair becomes much more stretchable and when tugged, it may cause healthy hair to turn into hair that is damaged and full of spilt ends—and who really wants to t

Fake Hair, Real Hair Who Cares?!

Ok, so imagine my trepidation when I walked into PAX last week and was assaulted on approach in front of staff and customers by the chef (before even getting the chance to order my sandwich) who boldly asked, "Is that all yours?"  At first I wondered what he was referring to and whether he was even speaking to me, but then I realized his eyes were fixated on my hair - Well, my lacefront wig that is. Shocked,  I then found myself unconsciously stroking my bouncy mane of F427 streaked, curly tendr

Saturday night was one great fashion show that we attended in such a long time! The collections were FABULOUS and jaw-dropping, we had such an amazing time viewing the collections strutting down therunway. The runway and Opera House was a perfect mix for the theme. PARK 2011 did a great job organizing and advertising for this event. It looked like about 400 or more attended, the room got more full by the minute. The runway was set up like the letter, “L” giving more people chances to view the c

During the build up to the Academy Awards, several hundred women in Hollywood are on a focused mission to get red carpet ready. There are a few tinsel town elite who, with their trusted team of stylists, hair & make-up artists, dressmakers, aestheticians and trainers, glide through February as if it were any other month. Some call these the fortunate few. I call them smart. Oprah Winfrey once mused that, “luck is preparation me

Secrets of the Baseball Cap

I've never considered myself a baseball cap kind of gal. Baseball caps were for the bratty little kids down the street and dads of the bratty little kids down the street. Never a fan that is, until one fateful day two years ago when I happened upon (drum roll please) a baseball cap - with bling! OMG. I had to have this cap. You see, I was into bling before I could crawl. If it shined and sparkled, I wanted it.

So - I pulled out the 'ol credit card and bought this sparkly black cap loaded with seq
