I've come to the sad realization, that summer is near its end. Although most of us want to still believe that its the beginning of July, the mornings are getting a tad chillier, and the wind is starting to blow more often. I love the sound of the wind through the trees, but that us a definite sign of Fall. However, with Fall, comes Fall issues of magazines, and God and everyone knows, they are the largest issues of them all.... Spread after spread, advertisement after advertisement. The 508 page

“Organic,” “naturally sourced,” “hand-dyed,”—these words are no longer selling points for hippies aged
and otherwise. They’re quickly becoming fashion industry buzz words that can change reputations and move units from stores. Environmentally-conscious fashion is leaking into mainstream media
faster than a bamboo shoot grows. Even mainstream television shows like Project Runway are featuring sustainable, ethical fashions. Talk about leading by example!

If you’re anything like us, you associate the early part of September with the madness of New York Fashion Week. Oh, but September is so much much than that fast-paced, magazine editor and celeb filled event that takes up just over one week out of the month. But just over the pond, there’s another– and some would argue better– runway explosion: London Fashion Week. And, wouldn’t you know it, LFW’s schedule just debuted.

Any fashion know-it-all is versed in Paris, New York, and Milan fashion. It’s just basic knowledge. But…Berlin? Well, it’s time to add the German capital to your runway repertoire. We’re on day three
of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin 2011, and the first day was hotter than New York City’s current heatwave…As if that’s possible.

Another fashion week has come and gone, and, just like the others, Mercedez-Benz’ Berlin shows had the odd, ugly moment. But overall, clothes were structured, funky, and, most importantly, wearable!

Perret Schaad’s show wins our unofficial “Straight From the Runway” award for clean designs that we’d take right off the models. By mixing neutral creams and beiges with a popping canary yellow, we feel that Schaad’s collection had the pe

Yeah, maybe your country isn’t having a great time with this international economic recession, but some countries—China, Germany, etc.—are doing quite well thankyouverymuch. Indeed, WWD found that German citizens are still looking to shop. Since, well, we also love to spend (even if our bank accounts disagree), we thought we’d give you a low-down of next week’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Now, don’t get too jealous…

The tour of “one of Anna’s apartments in Milan” (really, who has just one apartment there?) with its climate-controlled closets full of barely worn haute couture starts around the three-minute mark. As the Fashion Director At Large for Vogue http://www.afingo.com/blogs/blog-patrol/we-want-to-go-to-there-fashion-television-visits-anna-dello-russos-couture-archive-apartment/Nippon says, “we are in my studio… my archive zone… where I storage all my collection clothes.” Remember, jealously is not a

For as long as we can remember, Hollywood has been trying (unsuccessfully) to go back to it’s early days of glam and class. And although we can’t bring back Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, we can try to recreate their signature style. Luca Luca created their Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection based on the trademark tailored suit of the time, and the Spring 2010 Chanel runway looked like something Coco herself would wear. As for the makeup of the time, it always seems to feature three stunning

While big name designers continue to show collections this week in Milan, there is another set of men’s fashion designers to watch out for come fall. The British Fashion Council announced this week the top London-based emerging designers sponsored by NEWGEN MEN. The recipients not only have the chance to show their Spring 2011 collection at London Fashion Week in September, each designer also receives £5,000 – £10,000 to cover show costs al

Welcome to Monday! How’s that hangover working for you? To ease you into
the workweek we’ve cribbed this laid-back, laconic video from Style.com’s Style File blog of the pre-show preparations for Coach Creative Director Reed Krakoff’s namesake line. Shot in February by longtime Krakoff collaborator and all-around supertalent Steven Sebring, it’s not your typical New York Fashion Week behind-the-scenes snapshot.

Seems the Fashion-Week stalwart Mr. Mickey is just as confused about all these damned collections as we are. At least he’s man enough to admit it. “There’s all these things, and honestly, I’m a knucklehead and never know what I’m looking at, or when it’s in stores or when it should be shot.” [The Cut]http://www.afingo.com/blogs/uncategorized/%E2%80%9Ci-never-know-if-it%E2%80%99s-fall-or-spring-and-just-to-throw-resort-in-it%E2%80%99s-such-an-added-complication-and-then-pre-fall-paper-magazine-cr

With a recent ash burial for the late Alexander McQueen, the fashion world is obviously still in the grips of a great loss since the designer’s suicide last February. But, McQueen’s fashion legacy carried on this past weekend in a simple men’s collection at Milan Fashion Week under the direction of longtime McQueen assistant and now brand Creative Director, Sarah Burton. Yes—the late designer was known for his wacky and fantastical men’s collections, but somehow Burton’s u

Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the past… forever, you’re aware that a majority of models tend to be skinny… frightfully skinny. And we get it: The unhealthy look shows off the garment’s construction because, hm, what doesn’t look great on something,or someone, hanger-thin? But, individuals and groups in the public eye (like Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty or Mark Fast’s size 12 and 14 models at London Fash

Don’t know about you, but we use fast-fashion fave Topshop almost strictly for bargain hunting. But with their new collab collection by critical darling Mark Fast, the Brit retailer is asking us invest a bit more cash in their trendy wears than usual. Priced between $100 and $185, the five-piece, neo-knitwear line sure is sexy, but will shoppers actually snap it up when it hits racks in 10 days?
