Any fashion know-it-all is versed in Paris, New York, and Milan fashion. It’s just basic knowledge. But…Berlin? Well, it’s time to add the German capital to your runway repertoire. We’re on day three
of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin 2011, and the first day was hotter than New York City’s current heatwave…As if that’s possible.

Ok, she might be beautiful in a quirky sort of way.

She might have a fairly decent singing career in Europe.

She could have homes in France, England and LA.

And is rolling in it.

She’s currently the face of Chanel.

And just happens to have one of the world’s most gorgeous men in the world head over heels in love with her.

What I can’t quite understand is just how Vanessa Paradis managed to go from one god-awful song in the 80s, in the ripped-jeans fashion style of Kylie, to having it all. I mean, you

Fashion houses are reaching out—far, far out—to clients, and the extra effort is paying off in couture sales. WWD recently discussed the high—and widespread— demand for couture, and we found their tactics to be…well, really interesting. Forget your prototypical snobby reputation of the high-end fashion world—because these houses are going miles (literally) for their clients.

In an exclusive interview with WWD, Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci kept things, well… exclusive. Starting next month, Givenchy is dropping the runway in favor of an appointment-only preview for their fall couture collection. The ten elaborate evening wear looks will be shown in an 18th-Century
townhouse on the Place Vendôme (in Paris) to top editors and Givenchy’s (royal) clients… and that’s it.

I was watching the Bill O'Reilly Show on Fox the other day. I was outraged to see the story about the woman who was fired because she looked good and was always well dressed! Can you imagine? Simply outrageous. I was so upset that I had to write a short blog about it. I mean, really, how stupid can a company be? Don't answer that. I suppose they can be really stupid! The gal in question I believe is Debrahlee Lorenzana. I probably mispelled her name. Forgive me Debrahlee! Bill O'Reilly showed se

For the most part, I would describe my job picking and sifting through couture day in and day out as pretty exciting stuff, especially for someone who lives and breathes fashion the way I do. But I can see where most people would consider this a tedious, laboursome task that's definitely not a dream job for the masses. Well thank goodness producers from Magilla, the folks who bring us such fashion gems in reality TV as Jersey Couture (which premiers tonight) see things more my way, and are devel

Fashion, Fun & Frolic Under the Sun

For SS2010 the team at Chhaya Couture took their thinking tank out to play and kicked the fashion rulebook out of the park. Three months of serious fashion and fun have resulted in “Folds & Frolic” – the youngest and most inspired collection from the label yet.

Like the likes of Andre Lima and Issey Miyake, for the current collection Chhaya drew inspiration from post-modern origami. Much of “Folds & Frolic” follows the technicalities of the art - numerous folds

Hello, my name is Nikia and I'm an online shopping addict! Nothing excites me more than being introduced to a great website. Needless to say, I was elated when I found My-Wardrobe.com!My-Wardrobe.com is a UK based site that carries quality brands like Anya Hindmarch, Mulberry, McQ, ASH and Acne. With those names, you already know that it's not necessarily a site for frugal shoppers. However, they do have great sale items. On sites like MyWardrobe.com, I tend to gravitate towards shoes, handbags

Alexander McQueen's finale collection of fifteen looks is unmistakably Haute Couture , the attention to detail and precise cuts and finishes are executed to perfection. The color palette is definitely more safe and well-played than previous collections, light grays, royal reds with gold couture detailing, yellows and deep golds, beiges and blacks. Overall the color palette was refined and the collection was exuding Couture and Sovereignty. The collection consisted of floor-length ball gowns, sho
