Memorial Decadence

Did you have a good time this Memorial Day weekend? I had a blast... but I have to say it was a bit too decadent...My fun started on Thursday with happy hour Blue Moon (well actually it started on Wednesday with a couple of Hitachinos and a Tuna burger) Then on Friday I went out for lunch with the office crew and had a steak with Cuban rice and yuca, for dinner I had Sushi (not the healthy kind) and Thai Donuts (washed down by a Hitachino again), Saturday it was Sushi again for lunch (this time

Women's Wear Daily Is Finally Social

WWD-Macala-Wright-Lee.png

Every morning, around 4AM PST I stumble to my computer, first dose of crack in cup in hand, and search for the WWD Morning Report in my in box.

Last week, I had a surprise waiting for me – the report changed! It was formatted differently, easier to read, easier to find content and…MORE ENGAGING. I started reading through the titles and stopped when I saw, SOCIAL STUDIES.

“What?” I thought to myself, “Social Studies”

No, it couldn’t be!

Oh but YES, it had to be!

And it WAS!

Women’s Wear Daily launched

Summer trends on a budget

I am an avid Vogue reader (what a shocker right?) and after seeing Blake Lively in June's magazine she has become my new girl crush. I confess I have never seen Gossip Girl but if she looks as hot in it as she does in the mag, I totally understand why the show is so popular.

In this month's spread, she sports the latest trends for summer: all about the white, the tie dye look and the sweet pastels among others. My favorite outfits have to be the white leather Versace dress she is photographed in

Sustainability Through Technology

zaha-hadid-architects.pngGuest Post By Daniel Zeltzer, Marketing Director of Los Angeles based fashion brand XCVI Clothing.

Is fashion design really possible on a computer? It’s hard to work with garments without touching the fabrics and getting a real feel for the product, but more and more designers are reaching towards technology to help them create unique designs. Have we reached the age of “computer generated garments”?

Not quite, but…technological innovations are certainly helping talented people work to their fulle

Since the response was so fierce for Monday's blog post (Thank Goodness The Cup Did Not Runneth Over) I thought I'd give everyone a riddle to think about. Most people know that I am a Madison Avenue Salesgirl to many movie, TV, and rock stars, as well as socialites from New York to Palm Beach and all the way to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. But I have one client who, if there is a place above A-List she and her husband sit upon its throne. I was recently asked by this starlet's people to ke

The Swaping Extravaganza

Last Saturday was the Swap Miami Spring Inaugural Event hosted at Cafeina and it was AMAZING!!! I was there as a volunteer (and as a swapper of course) sorting pieces, appraising items, giving styling tips and basically helping out in every way possible. It was unbelievable the amount of very high quality (and super fashionable) items I came across with...from brand new Dolce & Gabbana dresses to Coach bags and hats... some of them even with the tags on!The organization of the event was impeccab

What Luxury Needs to Know About Gen Y

burberry-02-500x375.jpg
By Courtney Iseman, New York Contributing Writer

It’s probably not breaking news that Generation Y looks at luxury differently than Generation X. What a lot of Gen Xers and Boomers – and luxury brands in general – might be interested in knowing is how Gen Y looks at it differently. These views on prestige brands speak volumes on the values and beliefs of the generation that falls between the ages of about 15 to 33.

At this year’s L2 Generation Next Forum, Sterling Lanier gave an audience of luxur

The Decluttering begins...

We've been working out for about 3 weeks now and, although I'm no Giselle Bundchen, I've started to see some changes... I no longer fear death by skinny jean asphyxiation and I can button my shirts all the way up! So what better time to start my closet de-cluttering than now? I have lost some weigh, Swap Miami is coming up next week and I'll be honest... I just wanna shop.Let the de-cluttering begin!!! I decided to start with baby steps so it wouldn't be too overwhelming: first the tops, then th

Anamu Handbags

What happens to vintage scarves after they’re discarded? Usually, they end up in a pile full of cast offs at the Fairfax Flea Market, most likely never to be worn again. That is until Ana Maria Munoz of Anamu Designs rescues them and turns these once abandoned beauties into handcrafted creations worthy of any woman’s arm. You can follow Anamu on Twitter @Anamu or visit their website
