Academy of Couture Art (ACA) congratulates graduate Heidi AN as she takes a bold, confident step to build her own line in NYC.

Heidi’s journey since graduation was surprisingly an easy one for career opportunities. She was placed right away as Assistant Designer in Downtown Los Angeles with a starting salary of $800 weekly.

Most people are now probably thinking, sure, that’s because of the school’s network. Well, building a name in the industry goes beyond the school. That takes skills and rich,

Bright white sun on the modern mid-rises makes the greenery distinct and the couture garments elegantly bold. For a Saturday afternoon downtown Portland you can feel glamour all around.

Not many would put those two together: Portland and glamour. This is an achievement that only the two best schools of beauty could create. Academy of Couture Art, Los Angeles and Paul Mitchell the School, Portland have redefined west coast fashion and beauty which has usually tended on the side of surf wear or wo

That's So New YorkOkay, so it's official, I survived my first day of college; I have to say, I'm not exactly overjoyed. A summary of the day? I walked around the majority of the time on my own as it seemed that everyone, everywhere was reluctant to spark up a conversation with me. I won't point fingers, yet in my opinion it's a little rude to ignore someone when they casually slip out a "Hello" (let me verify that I was the one being ignored; oh, how I wish it was the other way round). I neve

8842964691?profile=originalThat's So New York - Photography is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine; therefore when I'm not sifting through a borderline ridiculous amount of online-stores and designer profiles, I tend to spend the majority of my time hunting down a selection of photographers which I can introduce to you all; I even tend to occasionally venture out of my house, and perhaps even my village to wave my camera around a little and snap some images of my own.

I have the Lazy Oaf AW/11 Women's Look Book to thank for

That's So New York - In addition to my most recent hobby which involves me sitting and flicking through pages and pages of online-stores, images, portfolio’s, collections and designer profiles in an attempt to find the next big thing, I have recently come to notice that yet another hobby seems to have begun toppling in; that of which still involves me flicking through pages and pages of images/portfolio’s; in this case, perhaps online-stores too. “What on earth is this hobby?” you may ask; my an

Return from Paradise

It’s been a while since my last entry but I’ve been very busy in my job and needed a break from the whole fashion circus. So I packed my bags and spent some time on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Far beyond the areas of mass tourism I stayed at the incredibly beautiful ‘Villa Yamaye’,which is  located in   Boston,Portland and -lucky me- run by a friend of mine.

This extraordinary villa is influenced by circles merging into one another, you won’t find any disturbing corners and angles....

Why Model Casting is like Editing Film

For those of you who read my article about editing film (digital images) and how mind set dependent that is, you might find this article interesting.  I am just in the process of casting for a Fashion Campaign and I stopped the process for a moment to think about the challenges of doing so and share some of my immediate impressions with you.

The first thing I noticed and you may find this really amusing, if the model comp is show

FotyMody: Tell about unity of fashion and art.

Moiseev & Dorofeeva: Fashion is fleeting, art isn`t always topical and has commercial context. We think, that many people think in such way. Fashion and art don`t oppose each other, because in both cases an artist/a designer has aim of self-expression, solution of artistic image, where some creative remaking, fresh ideas, desire to create something new are present. Eventually, it`s old philosophical question of “unity and struggle of opposites”, whe

ASK I'M SO HOLLYWOOD: The Art of Gift Giving

holiday-gift.jpg

Well, it's that time of year again!

Still haven't figured out what to give that special someone?  Here are a few tips that may help make the process a little more smooth and appreciated (ahem, USED) by the recipient:

1. Give a gift that is from the heart.  Or, at least one that was thought out.  DO NOT give a gift because (a) that's what YOU wanted them to have or (b) they are "lucky" to even receive a gift from you.  Those are never good reasons to give a gift.  Why?

(a) the gift is "supposed" to
