Green (416)

These are 2 of my favorite brands that unite for 1 night only.  This stretch Piazza Sempione blouse is so well tailored even a second grader could spot the quality head on.  Piazza Sempione’s first collection was presented in Milan in 1991.  By combining Italian sartorial tradition with research and technology they create garments that are unique for their perfect fit, quality & appeal for their international audience.  The creative directors are Tommaso Aquilano & Roberto Rimondi.  Streamlined

Yes I’m excited about this alice + olivia top and these Gianfranco Ferre gun metal color slacks but what I’m totally digging is this 70s Pierre Cardin leather clutch…. Of course I flipped when I saw the alice + olivia label because it’s rare to find this one in the thrift stores but hey I’m a lucky man!  Launched in 2002 by Stacey Bendet, is a sophisticated brand with a playful sensibility which epitomizes the personality & quirky STYLE of it’s founder.  You know she was nicknamed Staceypants be

Kay Unger top with Sportmax silk skirt…

It’s always raining diamonds from heaven when I find Kay Unger and this sweet little gem is one breathtaking diamond.  I always love salvaging Kay Unger because every piece I’ve ever pillaged has been modern, fresh, captivating & chic.  Every woman needs a top like this because with or without a jacket this piece sizzles on the open market.  Finding and pairing this Kay Unger top with this silk skirt by Sportmax has a nice cut to it.  Of the 35 labels in the MaxMara stable, Sportmax is perhaps t

Happy Earth Day everyone……..

In my humble opinion I think Earth Day has to be one of the best days ever and why it’s not a national holiday is beyond me.  Earth Day is a day early each year on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness & appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment.  Earth Day is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.  Earth Day was first on March 21, 1970 so Happy 42nd Birthday….  It’s the simple things in life we all take for granted like each time you turn on the water faucet and

I love pink & brown combination and what I’m really loving is the fact that it’s Trina Turk & Versus by Gianni Versace.  This ensemble is modern with a twist of vintage and in my humble opinion that’s always the way to go.  First let me just say that I’m a huge fan of Trina Turk and not just because I consider her a very STYLISH designer but with some people I can just tell what type of person they are and with Trina Turk I can tell she’s passionate, creative & most importantly fun.  You see her

Sexy Josie by Natori dress…

I’m a huge fan of Natori and this marks my first piece I found so it’s a win win day for me.  ”I have always believed there are no boundaries,” says Josie Cruz Natori, founder of Natori. This brands makes lingerie, bras, ready to wear, swim wear, frangrances, linen, towels, eyewear you name it and this brand does it in STYLE.  I always say if it’s good enough to be sold at Saks & Neiman Marcus it’s good enough for my clients.  I love the construction and pattern of this dress, it’s very sexy & m

I almost did a back flip when I saw the label inside this sky blue skirt “Ines de la Fressange”…. a back flip & a somersault and here’s why.  Picture this it’s Dallas in 1984 when I read that the young Chanel model Ines de la Fressange was coming to town.  You know I had that circled the date on my calendar, because it was light years before the iPhone, and was so excited about going to the Chanel boutique and meeting Ines de la Fressange.  The day comes and it was a complete zoo at the Chanel b

This Versace top is so retro and one hell of a fine example of op art at it’s best. Think Victor Vasarely and close your eyes… Op art, also known as optical art, is a style of visual art that makes use of optical illusions.   This Versace top is brilliant and a great example of what walking art looks like, when you have this piece on all eyes are on YOU….  From Versace to Rebecca Taylor isn’t life so sweet?  This Rebecca Taylor top has everything going on with it, there’s cotton, lace, netting,

I love when I get emails from my readers showing me their 2nd hand luxury & telling me their great story but what I’m digging is when it’s international.  I’m go international with this letter, Canada to be precise, and I LOVEEEE Canada.  Next I’m waiting for some chic girl from Paris or Milan to email me showing me her found luxury items and sharing her story.  I’m thinking global is where it’s at!  Here is Jentine’s letter & pics:

Anytime you find a Michael Kors, Calvin Klein or Donna Karen item pray to the GODS that the label says “made in Italy” and if you are lucky to get that then you know you’ve been good…  This Donna Karen top is made in Italy which is superb quality and construction.  Pairing it with this classic black Bally jacket is over the top hipness, just check out the stitch work on the pockets.  Bally is a very R$CH luxury brand from Switzerland and you know anything made in Switzerland is built to last.  B

I’ve said this a million and 3 times ‘vintage has it going on’ and just check out this 70′s vintageSt John dress and you’ll know why I believe this.  I added the stretch belt to give it an updated look & feel and that’s the magic when it comes to vintage.  You can take anything vintage and add a modern accessory such as a belt, clutch, heels (Tom Ford) or jewelry and bring that vintage into the modern moment.  This straight cut dress is timeless and looks just as great as when it was created bac

Time keeps on slipping into the future…. isn’t that the truth???  I hope you all had an amazing week because I sure did.  I mean just look at all the luxury goods I scored from the thrift stores saving them from extinction:  a vintage Sonia Rykiel top, vintage Giogio Armaniskirt, St John cardigan, Akris slacks, Kay Unger blouse, Theory skirt, Carmen Marc Valvovest & another Kay Unger silk wrap blouse (HOTHOTHOT) and finally 2 new silk Tracy Reese dresses.  I received a fantastic email with photo

I have no idea who in the hell The Brothers are but that didn’t stop me from buying this gorgeous made in Italy camisole.  I was completely blown away by this mix of fabrics, you have velvet, silk, lace, netting & sequins.  It’s like one big ole bundle of love.  This top reminded me of something Ann Demeulemeester would have designed, it’s edgy and yet chic.  I whipped out my trusted iPhone and Googled The Brothers while this piece was in my hands and found nothing but that didn’t stop me becaus

I found both of these Rene Lezard pieces back to back inside the thrift store and I don’t think my eyes could have gotten any wider.  I love this German brand, it’s luxurious – it’s R$CH – it’s classic & it’s very very chic….  Rene Lezard is an exclusive fashion brand for women and men in the high class market segment.  It stands for individuality, unique design and uncompromising quality in material and workmanship.  The company mostly uses the best Italian fabrics and if you could only feel bo

I heard from so many people out there that this week was the week for Spring cleaning.  Cleaning out the closets means ample supplies of new clothes at the thrift stores!!!!    YEAH….  Yes I’m so happy that so many of you just cleaned out your closets and donated to Goodwill or Salvation Army.  You guys rock!  I say donate your unwanted clothes and make room for truly fabulous vintage luxury items you find at yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales or consignment stores….  It’s time to be picky

Sexy Dolce & Gabbana halter dress….

This Dolce & Gabbana halter dress is over the top in a good way….  Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana are 2 Italian men that first worked together in the early 80′s and in 1985 formed their eponymous partnership.  From the beginning their designs have been overtly sexy.  In the 90′s they began putting lingerie on the outside of the clothing, a look that was at first popular with rock stars (Madonna) and then became part of mainstream fashion.  This dress is so sexy and reeks of STYLE and to me jus
