You know how much I love thrifting and how much I love meeting new thrifters well guys I recently met a professional thrifter and she’s amazing.  Her name is Dawn and her passion for collecting vintage luxury is on par with mine .  I met her when she came into Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique (my store) and wanted to consign a few items. I love her refined eye and so given that, I had to ask her a few questions so here goes….

Q:  Dawn how long have you been such a serious or serial thrifter?  

I just don’t even know where to begin with this blog posting because I love both items so damn much.  My face dropped when I saw the Scaasi label inside this vintage 80′s Scaasi dress at the thrift store.  Just dropped.  I love this dress and yes I remember women wearing this dress back in the 80′s.  When you put this dress with this vintage yellow Byblos coat it’s stylish enough that I actually could see Lady GaGa wearing this out.  Can’t you?  Everything about both items are just all about qua

This vintage brand is highly collectible and when I saw the label I almost coughed up my lunch.  Paganne by Gene Berk is a brand that is known for their wild prints which is what I love about this brand.  I love a good wild print any day of the week.  This brand started in the early 60′s and Gene Berk designed for Oleg Cassini as well as Cole of California and even worked on a few movies.  Gene Berk wasn’t a trained artist, he was a pre-law dropout, but when you see these patterns you wouldn’t h

For me to actually pick up a Ralph Lauren dress from even a thrift store has to have something special about it and this RL Black Label dress sure fits that description.  The Black Label by Ralph Lauren is great quality and made in the USA which I really love but this simple dress isn’t just timeless it’s sexy & chic all at once.  The fabric is viscose & wool and feels like a million bucks.  This Ralph Lauren dress retailed for between $998-1298 when it was first produced and who knows when that
