Igor Kyrylyuk: type designer of FotyMody № 2

I have always liked and I still like to take part in different show projects in any role. This time I had a socking great opportunity to create the type for the second issue of FotyMody… Yeah man!) I am not a type designer but I agreed easily! And things start rolling… Under the guidance of Andrеy Goncharenko I began to experiment. I had used up a lot of A4 shits of paper. The process of writing was very emotional and jolly, so the type was expected to be the same. Hurray, we succeed! Everything

Renee Jansen: natural light for a viewer

“I prefer shooting on location, because I want the viewer to forget about the fact that it is a photograph. They must forget about the fact that there was a photographer, a make-up artist, a stylist, an art-director, etc. For the same reason I prefer natural-ligth instead of studio-light. I want people to look at a moment, a story, a scene, instead of just a monochrome paper with an image on it”, – Renee Jansen, photographer, www.reneejansen.com, Netherlands

"After I was given the brief on the theme of “Fun, Happy” for FotyMody I thought for sometime on how to shoot happy in Shanghai. Daily life in Shanghai is full of action and activities so I took our model to the common streets of the city. I wanted to shoot where every day Shanghai people go and not at the tourist spots. I picked the model in part for her red hair as I also see Shanghai as being very colorful so I wanted the images to have punchy colors. We got lucky on the shooting day as the a

“Fashion is moving in the direction of practicality and quality of the products. Modern fashionistas estimate tucks, which can stress the waist or make the breast more volume; pleats which can hide a bulging tummy. Theatricality of the shows became a thing of the past. And of course, fashion is still associated with the brands. Louis Vuitton bag from any collection – it is fashionable!»- Victoriya Gordienko, editor-in-chief of the magazine “Good House Keeping”, http://sanomamagazines.com.ua, Ukr

«Our initial idea sounded like that: a certain circus actress is in retirement already despite her young age… And here she wakes up at her flat in absolutely domestic atmosphere but the circus entices her away. When we saw the interior which meant much on its own, the idea had changed. Not cardinally. It’s not her native home. This is a luxury suite where her circus lived before they left. But our artiste got lost here. In time and in space. Besides model is a real attagirl who was easy going in

“It was rather difficult to be serious and to keep this gravity during five hours of shooting while everyone was laughing. The idea is very original and I saw the contrasting of alive emotions and pathos. It was really very difficult to control yourself and not to laugh when children were laughing and poked their fingers, someone put the antlers. As for me the story with an older man was the most contrasting and I liked it most of all. The shooting crew was making those who were behind my back l

«My advice for beginning photographers is to never assume you are at the top of your game, you never will be and there is always room for growth. Having a better-than-everyone attitude isn’t going to help you get anywhere. Never forget your creativity and experiment even if you aren’t sure if it will work or not,» – Ellen Einkauf, photpgrapher, http://elleneinkauf.com/, USA

“I am shooting fashion and all the shoot details need to be strong. Styling must be used always, exсept nude shooting. The stylist needs to understand the story, have a good eye for putting together looks. You should take into account texture, colors, graphics, shapes and of course trends. Stylist is a key part of the team”, – Todd Antony Tyler, fashion-photographer

Igor Puhnatyi about photographer`s role

“If we talk about the team “photographer-model-stylist-make-up artist”, the photographer plays a main role. First of all, he is the arbiter and he is the head of the shooting process. He has a task – to show one or other objects in the best way. How? This is the individual work of every photographer. Actually, just that work differentiates all the photographers; just this occupation is most valuable”. – Igor Puhnatyi, photographer, www.gloryphoto.com.ua

“Fashion was in 70s, 80s, 90s, when everybody wore the same style of jeans, slim line shirts and stonewashed jackets. Step to the left, step to the right – and you become “retrograde”. Nowadays fashion means “unfashionable”. Fashion combines your individuality and delicate contact with trends. Style is good, it opens our inner world, our likings, and it makes us difficult to be copied by someone else. And clothes should be clean and live with its owner!” – Lena Ivanova, designer, www.lenaivanova

Eugenia Shabaeva: fashion has stopped

“I think, fashion has stopped for a while. Too many things were created… Now fashion modernizes under modern society, but it have took along all the things of the past. I think, everybody will notice the new period when it begins. Although we`ll understand it only in the future, when we`ll analyze the present”, – Eugenia Shabaeva, photographer, www.shabaeva.com, Ukraine, for FotyMody

“My main ingredient of successful protoshoot is to take it easy: smiles, jokes, kindness and a good mood on the set are fundmental to keep everybody in active mood of the project and happy to be giving 101% of what they can. And when sometimes it’s necessary to demand for more concentration, you can achieve it with a nice word. Then of course, it’s very important also to have top-level people to work with: the right strong model, a creative team and a client able to support creativity adequately

"Style of the photography? Mixing styles is the occupation of the spectators with the technocratic mindset, art critics, etc. Photographer should shoot and create images. And he shouldn’t pay attention to style, because the style doesn’t arise BEFORE the creation of the photo, it arises AFTER that”. – Dmitriy Korablyov, photographer, www.spbfo.ru, Russia
