Love Aquascutum,  LOVE this brand and yes it’s a men’s button up shirt but I don’t give a rats @#% if I’m putting this men’s shirt with these Trina Turk black women’s slacks for this posting..  Women have been wearing men’s clothing for decades and who am I to try to stop them?  I think if something looks a great as this brown Aquascutum shirt then by all means wear it, grant it I’m keeping this Aquascutum shirt for me!  I am generous enough to want to blog about my find.  Aquascutum was establ

I LOVE finding Poleci….LOVE it…  This label is so over the top yummy I can’t help myself each time I find one of their brilliant creations.  Just look at this gold lace top with rhinestones for that extra zinger and tell me this design team made up of Janice Levin-Krok & Jeffrey Chow can’t kick some serious fashion butt.  This top is like a cat on a hot tin roof.  I found these classic Max Mara wool slacks that complement this gold lace top by Poleci beautifully.  Simple chic is what this ensem

This black lace Escada skirt with the cobalt blue lining has to be 1 of the most beautiful skirts I have ever seen by Escada.  My mouth just dropped when I scored this skirt because immediately I saw the beauty in the details and construction.  Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders brings a breath of fresh air to this fashion house.  Saunders, who in 2007 was nominated by Elle Designer of the Year, will present a 20 piece collection as part of the label’s Resort Line in London & Paris next June 2

At first glance I thought this BCBG knit dress just might be a Missoni dress but not for now.  I’m sure later I will find that vintage Missoni dress but for now this BCBG knit dress will work just fine.  I love the way this dress was designed, so modern and contemporary.   I grabbed this BCBG dress, stuffed it inside my basket and continued to hunt… Moments later I spotted this velvet sassy cocktail dress by Kay Unger, eyed it up-down-sideways and stuffed it inside my basket next to the BCBG kn

These 2 dresses crank up the STYLE volume so loud I can hardly hear myself dream.  I love this simple yellow cotton Cynthia Steffe dress and I know it makes you think of summer which feels like a long way from now but soon it will peek its head around the corner and when it does you can arm yourself in this yellow sassy dress… The Oscar de la Renta flower pattern dress makes me also think of summer and how excited I’ll be when my Zenias pop up from Mother Earth… What can I say summer has always

Wow I don’t even know where to begin with this posting because you have a ultra high end Italian brand and a high brow Swiss brand and together it makes for a uber polished glammed up look.  This black cotton top by one of my absolute favorite Italian brands Piazza Sempione is simple chic at its best.  Piazza Sempione makes a very distinct mark in the fashion industry, this brand creates an exclusive clothing and accessories line for women and embodies everything the Italian fashion industry ha

They really don’t call me “the serial thrifter” for nothing because when I’m thrifting – I’m working…  What I have always loved about thrifting is the hunt…  I love finding luxury and designer goods and I always have…  So this ensemble gives me great pleasure because I love each item so lets start with the top.  This pink lace camisole by Milly is over the top hot and sexy… The Milly by Michelle Smith collection has defined youthful, luxurious STYLE since 2001.  Designer Michelle Smith creates t

I’ll always take Escandar without even asking questions because this label is all about comfort and sophistication.  Teheran born Eskandar Nabavi signature fashion line is made for everyone of all shapes and sizes, using fabrics such as silk and antique linen, Eskandar creates fashionable pieces that are relaxed, play with volume and brings a touch of old world culture to the wearer.  This orange cotton top has comfort written all over it and if his designs are good enough for Neiman Marcus and

Trina’s philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic fashion

Trina’s philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic fashion

Trina Turk considers herself lucky on two counts: first, because she knew at a fairly young age what she wanted to do when she grew up (design clothing professionally) and, second, because she is succeeding at doing so beyond her wildest dreams.

Born in California and raised here and in the state of Washington, Trina learned to sew at

I swear I would put my client in this ensemble to take the trash out to the curb in because it is stunningly beautiful and I believe that even menial tasks like that deserves to enjoy a little flair… This pink and silver lame rhinestone studded cocktail dress by Carmen Marc Valvo is jaw dropping.  Valvo’s professional career began as a ready to wear designer for Nina Ricci in Paris, followed by a stint at Dior.   In 1989 he was ready to launch his own label and since has not had to even tap the

These brown glen plaid brand new Jenne Maag slacks still had the tag on them when I rescued them from the thrift store.  I’ve always loved Jenne Maag’s designs, they are classic and staples for anyone’s wardrobe.  Jenne Maag’s success has been her understanding of the flattering powers and subtleties of stretch fabric.  Having been one of the first to have worked with Italy’s top stretch textile companies, she has researched and developed the highest quality available.  So when I found this gor

The Hunt for Warmth = the Right Coat

Here ends another cold week in the North East and now my mission has reached critical stage.  I have been on a mission to find the right coat to replace my beloved long wool coat that is surely saying daily: fix my lining or retire me! With old man Winter hanging on even though Phil saw his shadow, I’ve been bargaining with my coat to see me through this season while I look for its replacement. Like everything these days, choices abound as well as a whole lot of confusion, especially when you ar

Flats are back...

I'm a sucker for a new trend as much as the next girl... but I'm also slightly vertically challenged, so the news that flats are back with a vengeance, I'm greeting with slight trepidation.

Yes, we all love the idea of pulling off a gamine Audrey Hepburn channeling her Parisian look in Gigi. But to be honest, the chances of nailing it when you're under 5'5" are slim.

Luckily then, for the munchkins amongst us, wedges are still staking their claim as the shoe to give you a boost f

Gestuz Rocks!

Right in the middle of winter sales and still having a couple of cold months ahead, the spring campaigns are already here. Neither I and my sister are winter persons so this is just another reason to be anxious for the springtime to come.

Playing with different combinations of boots, coats and pullovers is cool and funny but nothing beats an edgy tank top, some trashed denim shorts and a pair of flat sandals to get ready for a journey of long walks under the melting sun.

One of our first purchases
