Peter Chyrukhin, psychologist, bioenergetic specialist, suggestologist

I am guided by cognition and self-actualization. It`s important to cognize yourself, because then you can cognize this world.

I still remember my childhood: the big light room and children. Some of them were playing football; others were singing and dancing or playing tennis. There was hue-and-cry, you know… And I felt a stream. Just from that moment, from 6 years old I have the steam of positiveness, energy, sport, move and a

“First of all me and my team have met at Marangoni Milano for make-up and styling. When we finished, I had to tell the model about the mood of shootings. It wasn’t so usual! ;) FotyMody set almost crazy mood, and I’ve created the same crazy situations around Milan. Model understood the requirements and we went to the center of galleria Vittorio Emanuele. I asked her to make same crazy poses and to lay on the famous “bull”, where people from all over the world come to make a wish. It was so funny

"I enjoyed it a lot! I had a distant dream about shooting against a background of the tower but I never realized it could happen. While the shooting most people – tourists – were trying to make a picture of the process secretly. It was fun to watch them:) Some people were asking questions, some told compliments… In the end of shooting when we were going to the tower “for a kiss” we noticed a beautiful tree and we couldn’t help photographing there:) To tell the truth, it was a terribly cold day b

All roads lead to New York, and we’ve made a shooting for the second FotyMody issue exactly in this city. The weather must be said wasn’t so sweet. It was rainy and windy day with slush. We have to give ours due to a model because she overcame everything and jumped and run and climbed the fence! Strangely enough but people in this megapolis are not used to the appearance of beautiful girls surrounded with cameras. They gathered round us and made pictures where we were as a background). We heard

Antonina Maricheva: in-demand type of model

“In-demand type of model differs from the generally accepted canons of beauty. Often, bright look which you pay attention on the street won`t be popular and needed in the modelling. Model`s face is the one you can draw different images on it, so it shouldn’t have too expressive features. While at the same time model should have strongly pronounced cheekbones and not plump face, clean skin, her eyes must be expressive even without make-up. Height – from 174 cm and hipline – to 90 cm. Thin arms. S

Alina Zhuravlyova: the issue is about styling

“Make-up is a very important link in the shooting! Make-up as, for example, Sasha Pivovarova has in some magazine isn't suitable for everyone. Blindly haunting of some image can simply make the “scowl girl” from a model. If we talk about the styling, the flight of imagination is always good. Even if you construct the bucket with chain on someone`s head, the teamwork will always save you. Everything should be interconnected,” - Alina Zhuravlyova, model, www.l-models.com.ua, Ukraine

“Model on the runway and model in the studio… The main difference is in time: a model is on the runway for a few seconds, and in the studio – for a few hours! To speak about runway model and photo model in one person, I have to say, that it’s easier to work on the runway for the person who can open up and present himself in a short time. For the person who needs much time to do it, it`s better to work in studio. The main thing is that you should have given this time … There is no doubt that the

"After I was given the brief on the theme of “Fun, Happy” for FotyMody I thought for sometime on how to shoot happy in Shanghai. Daily life in Shanghai is full of action and activities so I took our model to the common streets of the city. I wanted to shoot where every day Shanghai people go and not at the tourist spots. I picked the model in part for her red hair as I also see Shanghai as being very colorful so I wanted the images to have punchy colors. We got lucky on the shooting day as the a

Where did name of the agency come from?

JOY Men Division has been open for 18 years, and we just opened JOY Women 4 years ago. I believe though that when they opened they just liked the freshness of the name and the meaning of the word... “Joy” is a very beautiful thing, and we have always liked the name!

Does experience or intuition help in your work?
I have to say that both experience and intuition help me in my work. I have been an agent for 24 years, so I do have the knowlege that I have acqui

“It was rather difficult to be serious and to keep this gravity during five hours of shooting while everyone was laughing. The idea is very original and I saw the contrasting of alive emotions and pathos. It was really very difficult to control yourself and not to laugh when children were laughing and poked their fingers, someone put the antlers. As for me the story with an older man was the most contrasting and I liked it most of all. The shooting crew was making those who were behind my back l

Fashion Model Photography

Part of being a fashion photographer, it is fun and interesting when working with fresh models. Yet it is important that the digital studio photographer behaves professionally on the shoot.

Here are some other photography tips to enhance your experience when working with a fashion model:

1. You should give your model clear instructions to your studio. Make sure they are specific as you do not want him or her getting lost.

2. Discuss the direction of the story and the shoot with the model during the

Georgij Zarubajko - what is fashion?

“What is fashion?.. Well, I can express my opinion in “scientific way”: fashion (fr. modus – . modus, shape, form, way, rule, regulation) – is the the style and custom prevalent at a given time. Also I remember the aphorism “The Fashion is the servant of the taste and the taste is the gentleman of the fashion”… Style is the part of my self-expression. In fact, everything is simple. Why do we search for sound words?” – Georgij Zarubajko, model, Ukraine

Elizaveta Khaskyrysh about model

“As for me, the look of the model plays the less role than her desire. If the model`s and make-up artist`s desire to create always coincide than it all goes great and the true lightness is kept in their work. The best in this process is the fact that model can be changed and transformed. And smth new is always interesting!” – Elizaveta Khaskyrysh, make-up artist, Ukraine
