This entire ensemble from top to bottom and by bottom I’m referring to the shoes were new….  I love when I find new items when thrifting, you can’t get any higher than that, well not legally you can’t…. The first item I pulled out from the racks was this beaded DKNY dark gray sweater and everyone needs a beaded sweater esp a nice beaded sweater and leave it to Donna Karen for DKNY to design a highly polished one.  You can’t read or see Donna Karen’s name and not associate it with New York fashio

A blue / white ensemble is always a classic, just check out this outfit I collected from 1 thrift store, to see for yourself. I found this brand new, still with the tags on it for $175, Laundry by Shelli Segal white cotton blouse. Brand new is the key word of the day, yes you can find brand new items inside a thrift store all day long if you look. I found these super sleek Yumi Mazao denim capri pants that are so French it’s making me crave a baguette. Yumi Mazao was started in 1985 in Paris and

This makes the second item by Carolina Herrera I’ve found inside a thrift store and like the time before this one, it’s exhilarating to say the least.  “I love the idea of elegance and intricacy, but whether it’s in a piece of clothing or a fragrance, the intricacy must appear as simplicity,” says Carolina Herrera, the 2008 CFDA winner of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, of the aesthetic sense that has driven her for over 25 years as fashion designer.  Chic, sophisticated women all

This vintage pink leather skirt by Genny is the softest leather I’ve ever felt in my life and I just keep thinking to myself how lucky I am to have found this in the thrift store.  I have always been a huge fan of Genny and I remember it well from the my early Dallas days in the early 80′s.  This brand was EXPENSIVE… and I mean EXPENSIVE….. along the way I have gobbled up a few pieces from Genny but nothing as soft and elegant as this pink leather sexy as hell skirt.  Genny was founded in Italy

Old school glamour versus fresh design blood

If Burberry and Aquascutum are an Earl grey sipped from the finest bone china then Chloe is a soy skinny cap. So which do we have a thirst for? The mahogany bureau of the fashion world, all smoking jackets and polished polo? Or the fresh, organic, nude, bare foot appeal of natural, breezy beauty? Both have their place. On the one hand it can be seen that old school design houses have had their day. Their en-vogue moment has passed and like a red-lipped Dame they have retreated to Deauville. The ol
