Ungaro vintage 70′s sexy dress….

To me there really isn’t anything better than vintage Emanuel Ungaro!  He was the master of mixing colors and fabrics way before it was VOGUE to do so…  He was light years ahead of any fashion designer in so many ways and so I don’t pass up the chance to grab a vintage Ungaro dress.  This dress has sexy written all over it and you know what I love?  The zip up sleeves !  Yes that’s right when I see dresses that have zippers on sleeves I get warm and fuzzy inside!  Everything about this dress is

This is a interesting story so pull up a chair and pour yourself a nice drink.  Earlier in the week I had stopped by one of my favorite thrift stores and hanging on the wall was this vintage 70′s Bill Blass ball gown.   The reason I passed on it was because of the price tag of $75.  I seriously considering buying it but I had a hard time justifying the price tag.  A few days pass and I just decide that I was ready to buy that Bill Blass gown so I drive back only to find out that they had sold th

Anne Fogarty vintage 70′s tunic….

When you can look at 1stdibs site and find Anne Fogarty you know you’re in good company.  In 1957 Anne Fogarty became an in-house designer for Saks Fifth Avenue.  She designed not only dresses for Saks, but also all the items that added up to the Anne Fogarty Look: shoes, scarves, lingerie, hats & jewelry.  In 1962 Fogarty opened her own firm, Anne Fogarty and by the late 60′s she was making lovely peasant styles in both mini & maxi lengths.  She retired in 1974 and closed her business but conti

I’m a true addict, yes I’m addicted to looking for vintage Bill Blass.  To me there really isn’t anything better than vintage Bill Blass other than vintage Geoffrey Beene, Halston, YSL, Paco Rabanne, Courreges, Pierre Cardin, Lanvin, Givenchy … oh LARD see I can’t help myself .  I truly believe that all great vintage stems from vintage luxury designers, it’s all about the quality and design.  There isn’t anything better than when I see a woman wearing vintage.  Nothing better except maybe that b

Vintage pieces from Hanae Mori is considered to be very collectible, just look on 1stdibs and see for yourself.  Love this label….  Hanae Mori was born in Japan in 1926.  She went on to present her first collection abroad in NYC in 1965 and began showing haute couture collections in Paris in 1977.  She is the only Japanese woman to have presented her collections on the runways of Paris and NYC, and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official haute couture design house in France.  She is

Someone call 911 because I think Liza Minnelli is missing her sequin Neil Bieff ensemble….  Doesn’t this just look like a Liza Minnelli outfit?????  It has all the bells and whistles that tells me it does…  Neil Bieff began his career as assistant to Arnold Scassi then he began his own label. He has designed for Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross….  When you see Neil Bieff vintage pieces on websites for sell they can go north of a grand, easily.  This piece I’m thinking is from the 80′s and from Sa

Halston vintage 70′s gold lame wrap dress….

To me there really isn’t anything better than finding a vintage Halston especially a gold lame wrap dress from the 70′s.  This is like finding the Holy Grail for me because you know when you really stop to think about it there are so many pieces out there floating around.  It’s not like when you go to thrift stores or hit a few estate sales you will end up with a treasure troll of vintage Halston pieces…. No it isn’t like that.  You really do  have to hunt and search for these items.  When I clo

William Pearson vintage 80′s gold gown…..

I have found William Pearson before and blogged about it and yes I love his work.  He began his fashion career in 1951 when he studied under NORMAN NORELL.  I have never found anything before by NORMAN NORELL but when I do believe me you’ll hear me screaming from the roof top.  Pearson launched his own label in late 50′s and his couture business was based in Los Angeles.  Movie stars in the late 50′s & 60′s wore William Pearson to just about every Hollywood event.  This gold gown is just gorgeou

This is another piece from that estate sale I’ve been telling you about.  This vintage 80′s silk dress by Albert Nipon with pockets is gorgeous and timeless.  The pattern is an instant classic and when this dress originally sold at Neiman Marcus in the 80′s it retailed for between $350-450 which was a lot of $$$$ back then.  This lady loved Neiman Marcus and I can only imagine what her entire closet must have looked like.  It was loaded with Armani, Chanel, Thierry Mugler, Oscar de la Renta, Bil

Chester Weinberg vintage 70′s dress….

Again here is another piece from that amazing collector of luxury clothes left over from the estate sale that got donated to a thrift store where I grabbed it and ran!  With each piece that I found from this lady’s collection I kept thinking what an amazing eye for detail she had.  I would have loved to have met this lady who collected only the best things during her lifetime and treasure them until she died.  Apparently she had no family and her estate went to some charity.  When I found this C
