fall (440)

I heard the choir sing when I found this charcoal velvet jacket by Basler and I’m not lying.  This is my very first item I have found by Basler so I’m a plucked flower now…  Basler offers pure and ultra-modern STYLES in supreme quality, their garments exude perfect aesthetics and world class fits.  Basler’s top priorities are outstanding quality, a wealth of optimum STYLE options and clothes that flatter extremely well.  Fashion made by Basler puts the spotlight on the quality conscious and STY

Los Angeles native, Maria Bianca Nero formally launched her eponymous line in 1998 at her Melrose Avenue Boutique.  6 years earlier in 1992, she had been selling her creations to Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s.  Maria Bianca Nero was a former model and was based in Milan where she had the pleasure to get to know one of Italy’s greatest designer Romeo Gigli.  Inspired by the 40′s & 50′s fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn and Jean Harlow, Maria’s collection gently shapes the classic female f

I know you can’t see the striped Theory button up blouse very well but take my word this blouse looks like it was tailored fit.  I love a good tailored fit blouse / shirt, in fact very little is as grand as wearing a blouse / shirt that feels like it was tailored for you.  Well maybe a 2 week vacation in Capri is grander …  The thing I really love is if you can score yourself a beautiful blouse for next to nothing my best advice is to take it to your alterations place and have them tailor it fo

They don’t call me the ‘serial thrifter’ for nothing as my friend Wendy would say… I dig through hundreds to thousands of items to find the very best or unusual say for instance this striped dress by West Kei that all I can find on this brand is that sell it at Nordstrom and this brand doesn’t seem to have their own website…  all I can find about this brand is that its affordable which is always good.  So I grabbed the dress because I loved the construction and then grabbed this black Oscar de

This posting is very interesting to me because the first item I found were the black Laundry by Shelli Segal slacks with the peekaboo floral cutouts, click on the image of the photo to see the detail, looked very familiar to me.  I had found these slacks once before and posted my blog about it except the slacks weren’t designed by Laundry the first time but Vivienne Tam….  Yes these slacks are identical to what I had found previously.  Like that famous question what came first the chicken or th

This outfit is for the woman on the go, who knows where she is going but she is in motion.  This silk abstract top by Tahari is classic and elegant and looks fantastic with the herringbone pattern pink wool skirt by Lilly Pulitzer.  I love to mix up patterns and then anchor it with a solid jacket such as this khaki Theory one.  This entire ensemble: Tahari silk top, Lilly Pulitzer skirt and Theory jacket all got gobbled up when I slung open the door and pillaged.  Quick simple and tasteful is w

Black is the new black but then again black never went out of STYLE….  I love both of these simple  dresses and the black pair of brand new Prada flats that go with either dress…The first dress is by Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Jenny Graham & Toni Spencer, and it is as soft as a baby’s booty….  I love the cotton they use for their designs.  Graham & Spencer fuse quality with trend setting basics, and the result is a collection of soft and sensuous t’s that flatter without sacrificing feminine f

All this ensemble needs is your little Jil Sander black jacket and you are good to go.  I always like it when I find City DKNY and this blue top with the velvet trim at bottom is shi shi.  On the bottom of this City DKNY top there are pull tags that allow you to tighten or loosen the waistband, it’s those little touches that make Donna Karen so shi shi.  Speaking of glam I found this Trina Turk striped skirt that looks fantastic with the City DKNY top.  These Elizabeth and James booties add tha

This 2 piece dress suit by Nantette Lepore is so damn cute.  I love the chocolate brown with a pink trim color palette here…LOVE that color combination and it is everything you would expect from Nanette Lepore.  Nanette Lepore was born in Ohio and is a very well known fashion designer based in NYC.  New York Magazine has said that she is “known for her feminine STYLE and fine detailing, Nanette Lepore makes ultra-chic clothes that are the same time easy to wear.”  That just about sums it all up

Yes I love it when I find Nanette Lepore and Trina Turk but what I really love is finding a vintage piece by Philippe Adec such as this jacket…. At one point Philippe Adec was sold in Neiman Marcus but those days are gone so when I find a Adec jacket that was made in France I get excited.  Please don’t get me wrong I love Nanette Lepore and Trina Turk, these 2 great American designers are STYLISH and progressive all within one scoop.  Just check out the detail work on the black knit top by Lepo

I just have one thing to say and that is thank you CJ for donating your lovely Moschino blouse so that I may gobble it up and blog about it… That was very generous of you and I appreciate that kind of giving…  giving for the selfless act that is until I come pillaging…Love this cream blouse by Moschino, it’s very STYLISH and high glam and will never go out of being in vogue.  I found this lovely brand new Cynthia Steffe skirt that has shades of cream in the skirt pattern so it’s a no-brainer to

Putting this ensemble together was like going to a Cirque du Soleil performance – exhilarating.  How lucky was I that I not only found 1 Jil Sander item but 2?  Love Jil Sander, always have – always will… this brand is just like Piazza Sempione to me, it only gets better with age.   The black linen Jil Sander top is gorgeous and timeless and the Jil Sander khaki skirt is gorgeous and timeless, in other words you can’t fail by having  Jil Sander in your closet.  If that excitement didn’t do me i

I found this incredibly gorgeous wrap cotton blouse by Neiman Marcus made with handkerchief fabric so it’s soft to the 10th degree.  It ties in the back, click on the photo to see the backside of the blouse, and this top is elegant chic.  Wear this top with anything and you’ll be the ‘star’.  I know both of these slacks are a bit on the ‘spring / summer’ side of life but when the universe opens its loving arms to you and gives you slacks by Womyn & Ferragamo you just have to accept your fate and

BEST OF MILAN Fashion Week part.1

best-of-mfw-part-1.jpg

It's (almost) all about SUIT so far at MILAN Fashion Week (MFW)! I won't have time to review each show, so the best solution is, i pick up the most favourite looks from each show (which is most of them) and share it with you.

  1. D&G : The most looks so far (85 looks, beat that MFW!). What i like from this collection is the sharp & classic blazer with modern twist for the trousers.
  2. Salvatore Ferragamo: Honestly, the sweater is the only my favorite look from this collection. It's camel, not so chungky,

Its interesting how things happen in life….  I had found this gorgeous silver baby doll cut Micheal Kors jacket and gushed over the color with my new friend HollyBeth who just happens to be 1 of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.  Yes I use her products and LOVE them because first of all they are organic and secondly they work!  She took me out for homemade hot cocoa and she mentioned that she was going to go get some silver ribbon for some packages and I said “silver ribbon is STYLISH”.  So s

Mason black dress & Theory brown dress…

I love this black dress by Mason so much not just because it reminds me of what Mrs Roper wore on Three’s Company..know what I’m saying…. Somethings are just priceless and this dress is one of them….  It also reminds me of something Diana Ross would have worn in the early 80′s while out at Studio 54…. Michelle Mason was born in Korea and graduated from California State University and trained under Richard Tyler. Creating silhouettes, which are more youthful and progressive, yet maintaining the

best-of-mfw-part-2.jpg

Finally, here’s my recap for the best looks from  MFW Fall 2011 & hopefully can give us inspiration for our wardrobe this fall:

  1. Neil Barret : Famous for being risky to take fashion into another level, one of my most favourite designers keep us amazes with this leather scuba pants that perfectly combined with long sharp blazer! Artistic in simplicity.
  2. Alexander McQueen: With that red military cap & dramatic cape coat, it’s not hard to steal the spotlight!
  3. Dsquared: Channel your inner Zoro in this 70

I always get excited when I find a brand for the first time, it’s like going on a blind date with that racing heartbeat…  I found this brand new Gabriele Strehle white camisole originally it was from Bloomingdale’s and then it trickled down to  Marshalls.  The original price tag from Bloomingdale’s was $395… I love how you are able to see this item that originated out of Bloomingdale’s then had a layover at Marshalls and then the final destination,  your local thrift store! The work of Gabriele

This posting is about how 3 different skirts by 3 different designers can look so STYLISH with 1 Michael Stars t-shirt.  Nanette Lepore, Theory & Cynthia Steffe designed each one of these skirts and each one has a unique cut and fit.  The Nantette Lepore skirt with flower appliques and sequins is hip and chic.  The Theory skirt is streamline and minimal which always works ,think Jil Sander,  and then the Cynthia Steffe with pink flowers and velvet trim work is just so Cynthia Steffe beautiful.

Finding Robert Graham is like biting into that Godiva and not knowing or caring whats inside… Its all yummy.  I love this white eyelet fabric Robert Graham button up blouse and all the detailing, but then again the detailing is what sets a Robert Graham shirt apart from others.  It’s all about the attention to details and with every Graham the interior lining on the collar and cuffs are different patterns which takes an ordinary shirt / blouse and makes it extraordinary.  Since 2001, Robert Gra
