Casual, off duty style

We always see ways how to look good in the office, to look stylish when you’re out and about, gowns, heels, expensive jewellery, but what about those times when you just don’t want to dress up? When you just want to go out on a casual shopping trip, or our for lunch without spending hours in front of the mirror applying and re-applying make-up and throwing hundreds of outfit choices onto your bedroom floor.

Low key styles are just as important as those high fashion ones. We all want to feel relaxed, comfortable and not like we stepped off a catwalk once in a while. Saying that, just because you want a low key, casual look doesn’t mean you have to look bad! On the contrary, this season is all about the laid back styles, with oversized clothing getting more and more exposure, on the catwalk and the high street.

This style is cool, crisp and casual. Patterned trousers are very in this season and look great teamed up with a pale shirt and a jumper, just like Laura Bailey has done here. An oversized bag and minimal accessories accents the low key look. Laura has opted for white stilettos to finish off her look, but this outfit would look just as good with a light coloured pair of brogues.

Gwen Stefani never seems to let us down with her style choices, even when she’s grudging up. Stripes are another of this season’s must haves, and Gwen has very stylishly, yet casually paired a stripped tee, with boyfriend fit trousers a navy coat and red boots for a splash of colour. Again this look is easy to get yourself, at a price that won’t blow your socks off. You can find a navy coat like Gwen’s quite easily, Schoffel offer a fantastic one at Schoffel.co.uk.

Elizabeth Olsen has quickly become my favourite Olsen sister, she’s quirky and much more casual than the twins. I love her laid back and easy look in which she was seen our in New York recently. Skinny jeans are always a great choice, and pairing then with a blazer and a coloured scarf gives a comfortable yet stylish finish.
