Versace rhinestone top with 2 piece Gloria Sachs..

I’m back on my blog after the Christmas holiday visit to my family in Texas and our cross country road trip funeral for Mitch’s dad.  We were so busy during the funeral I really didn’t have time to post another blog post where I took Mitch’s 12 year old nephew thrift store shopping for his grandfather’s memorial services… I took Joshua shopping with his father and immediately Doug, his father,  found him the perfect wool jacket and I found him a nice shirt, tie, pants (2) and shoes.  Oh yes and while I was looking for Joshua’s clothes I did find 2 Brioni men’s shirts for Doug!!!  If I remember correctly it was all under $30 for those 8 items…..  I loved that Joshua was excited about going to the Goodwill with me to shop, he’s 12 years old and already loves to shop ‘green’ so I’m thinking this new generation just might actually get this environmental way of shopping for your clothes….  Ok here is today’s blog post……

I’ve said this a million times but what’s one more time, you modernize a vintage piece with something new, case in point this Versace top.   I among a million other people love finding Versace in a thrift store, I just wished it were a little more on the frequent side but hey I can’t complain.  What I never pass up on is finding anything by Gloria Sachs.  Finding this 2 piece; jacket & skirt, Gloria Sachs is like finding a little piece of heaven.  She had an amazing life and was beyond brilliant she was original and cleaver.  Sachs became well known for her textile patterns in her fashion and yet this is a solid 2 piece suit, I wish you could feel the fabric.  She worked closely with the textile mills in order to produce the very best fabrics for her collections, she was hands on in every aspect of her business.  Gloria Sachs sold her at Saks and Neiman Marcus and this piece came from Isaacson’s in Atlanta that ONLY sold high end designers.  So pairing this new Versacerhinestone top with this vintage 80′s Sachs just made sense to me.  It looks fantastic and by the time I put my client in this outfit with a pair of Brian Atwood booties, honey the paparazzi will be going crazy…. Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
