Vintage is the word for today. In fact vintage is the word for today, tomorrow and the next millennium. Recently 2 women came into my boutique Doubletake Recycled Luxury and said “oh we love vintage it’s so IN today”…. I just stood there and looked at them and as politely as possible said “you’re f*#%ing kidding me???” No I didn’t say that to them but you know I wanted to… When I hear such malarkey it just sends me over the edge because vintage has never been IN – it is always IN…. This blog posting is about 2 iconic fashion brands, Valentino & Chanel, and it just doesn’t and I stress the word doesn’t get any better than this. I just wish I could find these Giuseppe Zanotti lace zip boots in some thrift store, they are so dramatic they look like a sculpture with that metallic heel don’t they??? This is how I modernize an ensemble for one of my clients, I put them in something vintage with something new and add a spritz of Patron. Keep keeping it “green”. I’m your luxury curator.
