I loved this piece so much I actually bought it from one of my stylish consignors.  I started doing my research and discovered that this lovely sequin top by Cathy Hardwick actually has some history, and I love history.  I discovered that Tom Ford was creative director for this label from 1986-1988 and this was designed by him during this period and you can definitely tell that he carried this touch on to Gucci with him.  Tom Ford did an internship in Paris for Chloe at the very beginning of his career and after he returned to New York from Paris his career was actually dead in the water.  He went to Parsons and got his degree in architecture.  It was actually Cathy Hardwick that took a chance on Tom Ford and hired him after he called her office everyday for nearly a month straight….  You have to love his drive and persistence…  After Hardwick he went to Perry Ellis and then onto Gucci…  It pays to do your homework and research because I didn’t know this until I researched….  Anything done by Tom Ford at the beginning of his career is considered collectible…  I’m Daniel Troppy your luxury curator!
