Theory & Escada make a great match…

I almost came unglued seriously unglued when I walked into a brand new Goodwill and saw their pricing.  You know I know my labels & clothes so when I saw outrageous overpriced price tags on some brands, I won’t mention, well lets just say I came unglued.  I’ve been a thrifter now for 30 years and have seen this industry change dramatically.  There was a time when all thrift stores just sold their clothes for x amount and slowly I started to see thrift stores with their “Designer” or “Better” racks.  Thrift stores are not consignment stores people, their items are donated to them, they have no out of pocket expense for buying their merchandise so when I go into thrift stores and see prices on a St John dress for $100 or a vintage YSL dress for $75 well lets just say I come unglued.  I make it my business to call out any thrift store I feel are pushing those boundaries with pricing.  Yes there are thrift stores which happen to be my favorite ones, that all tops are x, all bottoms are x, all shoes are x, one set price and they don’t give a rat’s ass whether it’s a Chanel or Charter Club, now that’s my kind of thrift store… Off from the rant and into today’s posting which is a fantastic Theory top and a pair of stretch jeans by Escada.  Comfort and cozy and above all priced for a thrifter’s heart.  The thing that makes thrift stores magical for me is the fact that they give all people a huge opportunity to get clothes at 99% OFF retail now whether or not their from Banana Republic, Gap, J.Crew or from Gucci, Pucci, Prada is beside the point.  It’s just that chance of finding that nice item you might not be able to afford at big department stores.  So come on thrift stores don’t be price gouging my fellow thrifters and don’t even think about gouging me!  Be STYLISH go green…..
