Ralph Montenero coral gown with Adolfo cape…

One of my favorite clients recently came into my boutique (Doubletake) she’s 92 andSTYLISHHHHHH.  I was showing her a few fantastic items in the store one being a Lanvin lingerie gown that I have in the store with a black patent leather belt and a red Nicole Miller bolero jacket and she just DIED….  I pointed out to her that the Lanvin was indeed lingerie and I said “no body cares that this is a nightgown when you add the accessories to it that just disappears”….  She said “I totally agree with you Daniel you have to dress things up and put your personal touch to it and that’s exactly what I would do….”  I reminder her of what Lauren Hutton wore to the Academy Awards in the 80′s when she had a broken foot which was a pair of pajamas and an Armani jacket and everyone when wild over that….  Where is it written that lingerie, especially beautiful lingerie, can’t be worn as going out attire???  I’ve haven’t found it and even if I did I wouldn’t give that writer a second of my attention.  Ok so here with this blog post I’m showing this coral Blanche by Ralph Montenero gown with this black cape by Adolfo and it’s stunning.  Ralph Montenero was famous for his feminine touch to night gowns and was sold at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman & Sak’s back in the day.  He got his big break when he did a collection of sleepwear for Madame Schiaparelli of Paris, he became known as an innovator of lingerie.   Adolfo go his start with Balenciaga and I beg you to please watch the History of Adolfo link HERE …..  I would without hesitation put my client in this ensemble with a pair of Alexander McQueen heels and I promise you the International Best Dressed Head Honcho would come crawling to her….  Think outside the box people and be brave, don’t let “rules & regulations” run your life, oh no, you run your own life….  Be STYLISH go green.   Daniel your luxury curator!
