I just had my Pauline Trigere cherry popped!  Yes that’s right, this lovely vintage cropped Trigere jacket, is my very first found item from this label.  I went directly to YouTube to see if there were any previous interviews with Pauline Trigere and luckily there was this 1984 interview.  It’s amazing and she was fantastic as you’ll see when you watch this video.  In many ways she was America’s Coco Chanel.  Pauline Trigere was sophisticated, elegant and never afraid to speak her mind – a larger than life woman who embodied the essence of American haute couture.  Trigere dominated the New York fashion scene for more than 50 years.  The daughter of Russian-Jews, Trigere and her husband left her naive Paris in 1937.  In 1942, she launched the company that would become her fashion empire and became a US citizen.  Like Chanel, Trigere created her designs by draping fabric on live models rather than sketching.  I’m not sure if this jacket is from the 50′s or 60′s but either way it’s HOT.  Love me some Pauline Trigere and hope there is more in my future.  I’m Daniel Troppy your luxury curator!
