I instantly recognized this label and knew it was a collectible piece so I salvaged it from the thrift store. I know very little about this brand except that when you Google Ognibene Zendman clothing you’ll find that the luxury sites selling this brand aren’t asking pennies for it. It’s collectible so always remember. The Rome based design team of Sergio Ognibene & Peter Zendman are known for saying that their clothes in the 80′s were not known for being sporty but for being luxurious. Peter Zendman worked under the late Cristobal Balenciaga for 5 1/2 years before teaming up with his Italian born counterpart Sergio Ognibene. In the 80′s their dresses retailed for about $650 for a wool day dress to a pricy $6,000 for an evening ensemble. Lauren Bacall & Doris Duke were their loyal clients and that’s saying something. This yellow silk dress could use this Celine skinny belt to give it that modern feel. This yellow vintage dress from the 80′s is in pristine condition and has another decade or 2 left on it’s plate so when you’re out thrifting keep your eyes peeled for this luxury vintage brand….
