I wanted to share my living room table with you all so that you know it truly is about a lifeSTYLE.  I stumbled upon 6 Mies van der Rohe flat bar chairs in a used hotel / motel furniture shop years ago, they were stacked on top of each other and I immediately recognized them.  I looked underneath and they have the Knoll sticker and original horse hair stuffing and these babies are heavy because of the steel frame.  The man wanted $30 and we (my partner Mitch) talked him down to $15 each.  They originally came out from the Georgia State University conference room.  I bought all 6 for $90.  The Eames round table I got from my friend Art who had just purchased it from a thrift store and really didn’t need it so he sold it to me for what he had in it which was $50.  So when you look at this photo the 4 Mies chairs were $60 and the Eames table was $50 so that’s $110 not to mention the Elsa Peretti thumb print bowl for Tiffany and the 2 alabaster Italian candle sticks I paid nothing for at a thrift store.  Gathering up all these items took me some time but for me the hunt is part of the game, it’s the thrill that keeps me interested.  My message is all about giving shopping second hand a shot, try your flea markets, you thrift stores & above all hit those estate sales.  Keep keeping it green!
