Pochampally silk sarees are a variety of exquisite silk sarees that has been hand woven for generations in a certain group of villages in Telangana state by families of expert weavers. The traditional method of weaving these sarees has been handed down over the years using a fabric that is a mix of silk and cotton.

These silk sarees form part of a group of textiles called “Ikat” which represents the tying and dyeing of fabrics and include textiles such as Bandha in Orissa and Bandhani in Rajasth
