I mean who doesn’t love wearing Giorgio Armani ?  Wearing it or finding it, everyone loves Armani and with very good reason.  I found this 2 piece suit in a thrift store and couldn’t believe my eyes or luck for that matter.  I never ever pass up the chance to grab Giorgio Armani out from a thrift store to save it from the possibility of ending up in a landfill.  Sad but it happens all the time and to every single designer you can think of.  We live in a very throw away society and that breaks my

I think the Celine magazine ads are the best.  Love the pure simple images that I’ve been lusting over so when I saw this white blouse from Celine well you know it was my lucky day.  It’s not every day I find Celine but I certainly do enjoy finding this label.  It’s very FRENCH.  Phoebe Philo was born in Paris and educated in London and is the creative director for Celine.  I’m loving all the workmanship in this white blouse and I have to ask you “can you ever have enough stylish white blouses”?

I can’t tell you just how many times during the day I say to myself “I love vintage…. and vintage loves me…”  it’s my mantra that helps me through the day.  Yes I love and adore vintage, give me vintage luxury any day of the week and I’m happy.  Who in their right mind wants to look like everyone else?  I certainly don’t and I certainly never did.  Finding both of these vintage pieces just made me happy.  Who doesn’t love finding vintage DVF? DVF is timeless and classic just like this Joan & Dav

Finding this vintage Katherine Hamnett 2 piece super short skirt with matching jacket brought back some very delightful memories.  I was living in Dallas in 84 and working for HD’s Clothing Company, the only place anyone ever needs to shop in Dallas in my opinion, and that’s when I became familiar with Katherine Hamnett.  In 85 when she did the iconic t-shirt “Stay Alive in 85″ of course I owned a red one.  Fast forward to today I still have 2 pair of black slacks from the 80′s that I still wear

Well maybe not 101 reasons but when we are talking about Armani & Alberta Ferretti here so its not a difficult task.  Love this entire ensemble starting with the sweetest Armani Collezioni patterned top.  Armani Collezioni collection is targeted at people of ripe age who are not chasing season fashion “trends” but prefer classics and high-grade fit.  Armani Collezioni stands for elegance, exceptional attention towards the fit and details made of high quality fabrics.  Now I’m working my way down

Every time I find fabulous pieces inside a thrift store I’m reminded of our society at large and just how apparent the, throw it away mentality, actually is.  I’m constantly blown away by the amount of lush luxe pieces that are just floating out there.  This blog posting is about a Marc Jacobs silk top & Calvin Klein Collection silk shorts and it is luxe.  I love the color of this Marc Jacobs silk top, it’s very SPRING and I like that and plus it’s beautiful.  Now what I’m really loving are thes

It’s sweet to find a brand new Akris punto navy top in the thrift store but its sweeter to find a vintage Scaasi linen skirt as well…  These 2 were completely made to go with each other they just didn’t know it until I grabbed them both and introduced them to each other.  I love what you find when you go thrift store shopping, you have no idea what goodies are out there you just have to find them.  Shopping second hand for all your clothing isn’t just chic anymore it’s what most STYLISH people a

Badgley Mischka wrap silk dress….

There isn’t one thing about this Badgley Mischka dress I don’t like…  One side of the dress buttons inside and ties in the back putting a nice new spin to the iconic wrap dress.  The color combination, the ruffles, the tie in back all made me grab this dress at the thrift store and run like a bandit to the counter.  Mark Badgley & James Mischka have been hailed by Vogue as one of the “top 10 American designers” and as Hollywood go to guys.  They joined forces in 1988 and have been creating timel

I just about crapped in my pants when I saw the Ungaro label inside this fantastic & fabulous silk dress that was made in Italy.  This dress is your quintessential 80′s Ungaro.  This is when Emanuel Ungaro was on his game in the 80′s, there is absolutely nothing better than this period in his French fashion house.  The prints and patterns he used in the 80′s were over the top amazing and breathtakingly gorgeous.  Ungaro 80′s dresses with this type of floral pattern is very collectible and desira

Krizia 3 piece vintage piece…

How do you not freak out when you see the Krizia label?  If you know please tell me….  I saw this 3 piece vintage Krizia at Goodwill on half off day which means not only was it half off but my lucky day.  Mariuccia Mandelli is the brain child behind this iconic Italian brand.  In 1954 with the help of her husband she formed Kriziamaglia in Milan Italy.  Her clothes quickly became a success and then she branched out into knitwear and ready-to-wear clothing.  Did you know that Alber Elbaz created

I was wrapping up my tour of a thrift store and have about 10-12 more items before I walked over to the counter when I saw the Carven label on this 3 piece vintage ensemble.  I looked twice and then twice more to make sure I saw the Carven label.  I’ve never found a vintage Carven piece until now, so my Carven cherry has been popped and all I can say is thank the GODS above.  French couturier Madame Carmen de Tommaso establishedCarven in 1945 with a clientele of film stars, royals and even Edith

Anna Sui silk top with Escada slacks…

You really have to look hard at the Anna Sui label because it’s black as night.  Thank goodness I can see is all I got to say.  I never ever pass on the chance of pillaging anything from Anna Sui.  With over 3 decades of experience in the industry, Anna Sui is renowned the world over for her rock ‘n’ romance aesthetic.  Channel the look in the designer’s pretty silk dresses, embellished tops and eclectic outerwear and you’ll be on next years Best Dress List no doubt.  I also found these pattern

I almost collapsed right there inside the thrift store when I saw this 2 piece vintage 70′s Celine jacket & skirt.  This Celine treasure is a masterpiece to say the least… but I say that about all things Celine especially vintage.  In 1945 husband and wife team of Richard & Celine Vipiana opens Celine in Paris.  Richard ran the business and Celine handled the design and the rest is just good old fashion history.  In 1966 Celine established a leather -goods factory in Florence and then they launc

I know in the past I’ve beaten the crap out of Tory Burch because of her outsourcing to China and her European luxury prices and not to mention all the lead found in her handbags but that was yesterday and today is today.  I found this Tory Burch striped blouse with the fabulous square gold buttons in the thrift store and said why not?  I honestly don’t understand what all the fuss is about when it comes to Tory Burch but that’s just me.  Now what I understand why all the fuss is about Jil Sande

I always say if you’re buying a blouse buy the very best.  Loro Piana is the Rolls Royce in the textile industry is what I tell my clients.  I recently read a fabulous Tweet from Cornelia Guest “buy the best and you’ll only cry once.” When I read that on my Twitter feed I came unglued.  Love that quote so much that I think it should be a bumper sticker.  She’s a brilliant – classy – witty – modern woman and those words ring true to me.  Loro Piana is all about quality so when I saw the label in

I swear both of these Paul Smith shirts were owned by the same man because I found them both back to back in the women’s section.  First of all who knows how both of thesePaul Smith men’s shirts ended up in the women’s section but that’s very common and that’s why I always look at the women’s and men’s section. Thrift store workers aren’t the most fashionistas out there!!!  Knowledge is always power so be knowledgeable when you enter a thrift store.  Both of these Paul Smith shirts are size medi

I love mixing vintage with something modern and fresh don’t you?  This vintage 80′s Blassport linen blouse with its floral print and Isaacson’s label inside is rich in history.  Isaacson’s was a very high end store in Atlanta has been closed for quite some time but in its heyday Isaacson’s sold every high end Italian, French & American designers.  They sold only the very best.  When I’m thrifting in Atlanta and see a piece that has the Isaacson’s label underneath the designers name I grab it bec

Dior + Chanel = BLISS

Yes finding Dior & Chanel in a thrift store will give anyone BLISS.   I tell you it isn’t very often that I stumble upon Chanel in a thrift store but when I do I want to shout it from the highest rooftop in the city.  So I was foaming at the mouth (in a good way) over this Chanel black skirt so much that I almost missed this Dior top if you can believe that.  This Dior blouse was literally crammed into this rack that must have had 21,000 blouses on it, so it was so tight and I could barely get m

I had never heard of Wayne Kastning but when I saw this dress and the construction of it, it just blew me overboard.  This Wayne Kastning for Helga was for Sak’s Fifth Avenue so just seeing that label inside the dress made me hungry because I’m a tag hag and seeing the Sak’s label inside is like seeing the Bergdorf Goodman label, it just screams “R$CH” and if you have to scream it might as well be the word R$CH don’t you think?  Wayne Kastning designed dresses for Helga from 1991-1997.  I put it

Sonia Rykiel velour black 80′s dress….

I swear I can spot this label a mile away and I don’t know if that’s just because I’ve fined tuned my eye or could it be simply luck?  Who knows but I sure can spot this label and I will never pass up on the opportunity to salvage a vintage 80′s piece by Sonia Rykiel…NEVER.  Iconic designer Sonia Rykiel opened her first boutique in 1968 on Paris’ Left Bank.  Her signature sweaters brought her instant success, along with the nickname ‘Queen of Knits’.  The label’s distinctive separates are the pe
