Escada black jacket belted…

This Escada jacket could actually be worn as a dress and that’s what I love about this piece.  Just by adding this elastic belt around the waist I’ve cranked up the STYLE volume to a deafening level.  What is there not to love about Escada?  It’s a fabulous German fashion house that has weathered some storms but always emerges dry and safe on land at the end of the day.  Put your mod Missoni wool blend tights on and go tear it up and leave no witnesses.  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven

I haven’t found Ann Ferriday inside a thrift store in quite awhile so you can imagine just how happy I was when I scored this brown lace top.  I am a huge fan of Ann Ferriday‘s vision.  Ann Ferriday’s signature lace top are ultra feminine & romantic and everyone women that tries her items on for the first time fall in love with themselves all over again.  She just has that magical touch so I highly recommend getting to know AF.  I also found this white St. John blouse / jacket and I know when yo

Gone in 60 seconds is what happened to both this Armani jacket and these Akris punto slacks at the thrift store.  Gone into my hands and I loved both of them and actually almost squeezed the life out from under them.  Both of these items are classic, I mean the Giorgio Armani jacket is made by 1 of Italy’s finest designers and Akris punto is made by Switzerland’s cream of the crop so it’s a win win here.  In 1996, the Designer Sportswear Collection with the name Akris was launched and the compan

Catherine Malandrino bubble top…

Catherine Malandrino I love you and your gorgeous designs but please stop using FUR in your lovely collections.  I’m a big fan of CM and love her Parisian chic look but there is just something yucky about seeing a women wear FUR in my opinion. We aren’t living in the world of 1811 where men and women killed the animals to keep warm, we are living in 2011 where technology has advanced so rapidly with modern fabrics & treads that we don’t need to kill animals for their FUR anymore.  I feel it in

I have no idea who Jacques Molko is so I whipped out my iPhone with my other hand and Googled the name and the 1st link was from Decades and I immediately knew it has to be something special.  You can tell it’s something special just by looking at the craftsmanship but you know it’s gold when Decades sells it So I grab it and go and as I’m Google more I see 1 link from Luxist.com and they have a Jacques Molko dress valued at $2,842 and who knows how much Cameron Silver sold his Molko dress for a

You have your pick of dresses so do you want a cotton dress or a linen dress?  Both you say well aren’t you just the prize.  Such a STYLISH girl you are.  I love this cotton with velvet trim dress by Cynthia Steffe, it’s fun and yet sophisticated which is always in vogue.  The black linen dress is by Vince and you can’t tell from this pic but the dress has 2 front pockets so if you added a belt to this dress and had your hands in the pocket you would be quite the star… Both dresses offer you tha

Every time I find Tibi I always think there is a 6 degree of separation thing between us because she grew up on the Georgia coast and I have lived in Atlanta now for 20 years so somewhere along the way I know there probably less than 6 degrees keeping us apart.  Designer Amy Smilovic founded New York based label Tibe in 1997 after 3 years in Asia, where she worked with local craftsmen to develop the vibrant prints that have become the label’s signature.  One day I know I’ll run into her and we’l

If you could smell the scent of money it would smell like these 2 ultra luxurious brands do.  This posting just blows me away not only do you have Loro Piana cashmere top but Akris and they are both pink.  What are the friggin chances of that one happening?  Like winning both the Mega & Power ball lottery on the same week! Loro Piana family started as merchants of wool fabrics at the beginning of the 19th century.  The company was established in 1924 by Pietro Loro Piana and today owns 132 store

I scooped up both of these luxury items all within minutes of each other and I couldn’t shake that grin from my face.  It isn’t everyday you see a Carmen Marc Valvo dress inside a thrift store so when I do I grab it.  I have to say looking at CMV Fall 2011 collection it was filled with FUR.  I know you would think by now designers that use FUR in their collections would listen to me!  Seriously you would think they would get creative and loss the FUR since The Thrifters believes FUR is so yester

I get emails all day long from people always asking me if I think I’ll ever run out of things to talk about…  Being an artist you use your imagination to get you through the day and as a kid I used my imagination to transport my ass into a far away land called New York City.  As a young kid I used to read about Halston, Liza Minnelli, Calvin Klein & Bianca Jagger partying all night long at Studio 54 and wished I were there.  Remember I was a child at the time so my imagination was limitless.  Th

Polka dot Jaeger & MaxMara jackets…

Both of these jackets are STYLISH beyond words and yes I found them both inside 1 thrift store with a lot of life still left in them both.  Huge fan of polka dots and this jacket by Jaeger made in Great Britain is timeless to say the least.  This polka dot Jaeger jacket will go with your skinny jeans, pencil skirt & mini skirt.  I also found this ultra light weight jacket by MaxMara, it could actually be used as a blouse if you like because of its weight.  The thing I absolutely LOVE about this

When you peel back all the layers from me you’ll find I’m just a simple person that loves simple design and that’s exactly what this outfit has to offer.  Simple and classic cut & tailoring from both items that really crank up the STYLE volume on this ensemble.  This wool herringbone pattern with leather trim jacket by Nanette Lepore is beautiful and don’t you love the leather bow in the back?  Nice right?  I couldn’t have thought of a better piece to put the Lepore jacket with than this D&G whi

It’s not everyday I find a 0039 Italy item in the thrift store but on those days that I do I celebrate.  0039 Italy is luxury Italian fashion in action.  0039 Italythe fashion label designs both elegant and fancy blouses, dresses, pants and fashion accessories as well as extravagant and timeless shirts for the modern, fashion-conscious woman.  Love this striped 0039 Italy blouse and love it even more when I combine it with this black striped Cynthia Steffe jacket.  I always enjoy finding Cynth

Silk is the word for the day no doubt but what a great pairing of silk this 1 is.  When I first spotted this silk dress I thought from the pattern it could be Tory Burch but it wasn’t instead it was from Velvet by Graham & Spencer whom I love and have whored up plenty of times on my blog.  What I’m so psyched about is this brown cape by Dusan made in Italy.  Dusan you heard me correctly.  Talk about expensive and luxurious it’s Dusan Dusan Paunovic is the sort of designer who’s content to live

Jean Paul Gaultier dress is a piece of art…

I normally don’t blog about designers collaborations with Target but here is my exception to that rule, it’s Jean Paul Gaultier.  My eyes almost rolled into the back of my head when I first saw the label and then quickly I saw it was for Target.  I contemplated whether or not to even pillage it but I quickly said “Daniel this is a Jean Paul Gaultier design and who gives a rat’s %$# if it’s for Target” !  I have always loved this man and knew women from the early 80′s that walked in his shows in
