Whatever you think about the current state of the plus size fashion market, no one can deny that we have come along way. I remember when SLiNK began just five years ago I could count the number of plus size brands I knew on both hands and the idea that the likes of River Island and Boohoo would've launched trend focussed plus size lines a mere and lofty dream.

Now however, the story has developed and like the straight size market we are beginning to see a great mix of lower, middle and high end h

There was a time when New York women chased “Sex and the City”-fueled dreams of frolicking down Fifth Avenue in towering Jimmy Choo stilettos. The higher the heel, the closer to fashion heaven.

But now Carrie Bradshaw is only seen in reruns, and women are coveting comfort over sky-high, leg-lengthening stilts.

Last week, Victoria Beckham — once the standard-bearer for fussy feminine glamour — revealed that she is hanging up her heels.

“I just can’t do heels anymore,” she told British newspaper the

Supercharge your skincare with these beauty boosters

One of the most exciting beauty developments I’ve noticed over the past year is the emergence of customised skincare. In particular, supercharged concentrates that you add to your existing cream to cater for your needs.

In practical terms, this means an extra hit of vitamins to either soothe your skin’s sensitivity, boost hydration or help with anti-ageing. You decide.

This month, luxury skincare brand Zelens launches its new collection of Treatment Drops. There’s Power A, with vitamin A to help f

The busy streets of Manila have provided inspiration for some of the most iconic works by Filipino artists through the years. From literature to visual arts, from films to photography, Manila has served either as central theme or a colorful background that simply cannot be ignored. The Oscars red carpet has never been exactly at the vanguard of feminism. Unless the five-hours-in-make-up, half-starved-to-death thing is an ongoing subversive agitprop immersive theatre piece orchestrated by Reese Witherspoon to make a point about the gender pay gap in Hollywood by illustrating how much harder the women of Hollywood have to work than the men to pass muster on the red carpet. (That would be awesome.) Or unless, perhaps, Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander chose mint and lemon as

Everything to Know About Today’s Prada Show

The Prada show today featured a soundtrack made up mostly of female artists: It opened with PJ Harvey's jagged voice singing "To Bring You My Love," which segued into Marilyn Monroe's "I'm Through With Love" and Edith Piaf's "Hymne à l'Amour" — a triad of very different takes on love. (Also on the playlist: Nico's "Nibelungen," former Prada face Karen Elson's "Stolen Roses," and a track from up-and-coming band Heimat.)

As always, Prada took sometimes-dorky signifiers — this time, Hawaiian shirts

HOLLY FULTON: FASHION FRIENDLY

London Fashion Week: T minus five minutes until show time. The fashion editors, muses and offspring of the rich and famous have assembled, iPhones poised, ready to snap. Backstage, it’s panic stations: a maelstrom of make-up artists, stylists and clipboard touting assistants putting their Stan Smith trainers through their paces are barking frantic ‘over and outs’ into mouthpieces.

Fashion designer Holly Fulton admittedly likes her backstage a little less manic, although even her inner (very reluc

Stella McCartney on fur in fashion: ‘It’s completely barbaric’
(Photo:prom dresses london)

In an exclusive interview with Luxury magazine, Stella McCartney has reiterated her hard-line stance on the use of fur in fashion. “I think it’s completely barbaric and, moreover, unnecessary,” says the lifelong vegetarian, who has championed a more ethical approach to fashion, refusing to use fur or even leather in her designs.

Nonetheless, the numbers are worrying. In 2015, 73 per cent of the 436 autumn/winter shows in New York, Paris, Milan and London featured fur, a

When the American reality show Fashion Star was cancelled after two seasons in 2013, executives at Dubai One, which aired the show in the Middle East, were left with a programming conundrum.

“The show was doing really well for us and we didn’t really want to let go,” recalls Sarah Al Jarman, the director of the channel, which broadcasts shows in English.

Then someone had an idea.

“We’ve always wanted to go into the reality show format. And there’s already been a few singing

That antiperspirant may keep you dry, but it might also disrupt the bacterial “community” that resides in your armpits, a new, small study suggests.

Researchers said it’s not clear whether that disruption has any dire effects—or whether it could even be beneficial. But the findings, published online Feb. 2 in the journal Peer J, add to questions about the ways in which modern lifestyles could be altering the human “microbiome.”

The term refers to the trillions of bacte

Since at least 2013, Coach has been in a sales slump, suffering from its reputation as a peddler of nice but unremarkable handbags, and the fact that Coach bags could often be had at a discount—the kiss of death for any “premium” brand. But now, a look around fashion’s best storefronts suggests that’s about to change.

As of this month, you’ll find clothes by Coach amid the racks of cool, forward-thinking labels at New York’s Opening Ceremony. At Colette in Paris, which buys some of the best Europ
