Let your earrings make a statement

Just come across this photo of The Saturdays’ Una Healey wearing a gorgeous little black ra-ra number, an oversized tote bag and some of the most humongous earringsI’ve ever seen.

The advice is that if you’re dressing down yet want to give your outfit some wow factor, one statement accessory is all you need. We’ve already looked at necklaces, but taking a leaf from Una’s book, I’ve put together some slightly less enormous yet nevertheless stunning earrings.

I’m starting off with these pearl earrings, which have just arrived in stock. Not your average pearl studs to go with a twin set and tweed, these big beauties! They’re absolutely strictly to be worn by girls who want to be noticed and know they look good. If you want to make an impression, you’d best nab these now because I guarantee they won’t be around for long.

They’re made of silver titanium and have a cluster of mini white faux pearl bead drops, suspended from a flower. Only £3.99.

Similar to Una’s we have some colourful diamante earrings which are designed with multi coloured tear drops and circles. These chandelier earrings are finished with silver and are sprinkled with gorgeous clear crystals. Chandelier earrings are going to be especially in style next season, so get yours now. Only £5.99.

Although glittery, I think these crystal earrings are really punky and could add a touch of urban chic to your outfit (I’m thinking jeans or denim shorts, blue and white stripey tee and denim waistcoat). The description says they’re in the French colours of red, white and blue – but aren’t they the colours of the Union Jack too? Honestly, no national pride at all in this office. Anyhow, whatever language they speak, they’re triangular, they’re glittery and they’re fabulous. Only £3.99.

Et enfin (go on admit it, I’ve impressed you there, haven’t I?!) aren’t these both huge and absolutely stunning? These vintage crystal earrings have a drop longer than my jaw when I first saw Antonio Banderas in Desperado. These have an aged brass finish, a chain of circles long enough for a budgie to play on, and are decorated with two shades of purple crystals and diamante butterflies. At £7.99, one pair may go mysteriously missing this week…..
