I found this Jean-Louis Scherrer navy silk dress that still had the sales tag on it from the 90′s.  The original retail price for this dress was $825.00 and then it was marked down to $119.99 and I grabbed it for a whopping $3.00 so yes it does pay to shop “green” now doesn’t it my little angels out there…  In the 50′s Jean-Louis Scherrer worked at the House of Dior alongside Yves Saint Laurent.  It was at Dior that he perfected his cutting and draping skills.  In 1957, Scherrer left Dior when YSL was appointed head designer after Dior’s death.  In the 60′s he opened his own couture house and in the early 70′s started his ready-to-wear line.  Jean-Louis Scherrer exited the fashion business in 2007 with the departure of both its ready-to-wear and couture house.  Scherrer was just acquired by the French family owned group JSB International, which currently has no intention to reinvigorate the house’s ready-to-wear or couture line, but does aim to develop the brand’s licenses.  Back in the hey days of the 60′s & 70′s every celebrity, every socialite and every princess wore Scherrer couture.  Keep keeping it “green”.  I’m your luxury curator!
