Recently I was in Athens Georgia to see a fashion exhibition at the Georgia Museum of Art (thank you Barbara) and stumbled upon a resale shop downtown. You know I love looking everywhere for my vintage treasures and a resale shop is no exception. I flipped through all the blouses and when my eyes ran across this label, I knew I had struck gold ! Jacques Fath was a French fashion designer who was considered one of the three dominate influences on postwar haute courture, the others being Dior & Balmain. If Dior was the King of Couture Renaissance, celebrating a woman’s beauty, Jacques Fath celebrated her seductiveness. He loved everything glamorous. His 1950 collection of plunging strapless dresses and pert wing collars fastened with bow ties would later inspire the Playboy Bunny costume !!! I love finding a vintage Fath blouse and later when I dragged Mitch to a Goodwill I found these Akris slacks. I love mixing vintage with modern, it’s always a chic look. I’m Daniel Troppy your luxury curator!
