Iron&Pin

That's So New York- Once again, them hours spent sifting through the internet have paid off; consequently, I managed to hunt down an up-and-coming independent Men's label; after clicking over to their official website, instead of being presented with a rather stereotypical collection of graphic tee's and accessories, I was instead thrown into a limited collection of shorts, trousers and pocketed vests. The labels name? Iron&Pin; the designers name? Tom Hayden. I was initially rather shocked after I read through the Iron&Pin Tumblr blog and discovered that Hayden had only been sewing for around 8 months; my thoughts instantly went towering into a thought process which questioned something along the lines of"If this is what he can come up with in 8 months, what will we be seeing in 2 or 3 years time?" and the only possible answer was of-course, "something pretty damn special!"

Following the title of an independent designer/label, I always assume that there is still going to be a pretty hefty team behind the various processes which make up the label itself, such as the business transactions, sales, photography (etc, etc) but instead as I clicked on over to a page on the blog which was rather handily titled The Team I was again rather shocked as I was presented with a mere 10 names; 6 of which were photographers alone. So who is it that makes the Iron&Pin label come together rather niftily? Of-course, Tom Hayden (Designer/Founder of Iron&Pin,) followed by Bex Watts (Graphic Designer/Photographer,) Mica Riches (Sales Assistant/Sewing Assistant,) Milly Sampson (Promotions/PR,) Sam Harrons (Business Advisor,) Tom David Richards (Photographer,) Jason Drake (Cinematographer/Photographer,) Gabriel Mokake (Photographer,) Charlotte Rutherford (Photographer) and lastly, Peng Janthasorn (Photographer.) I'm proud to say that I think that this is a tip-top demonstration which proves that you do not need multiple skyscrapers and office buildings, or even a ridiculously large studio (seeming that Hayden's studio is not exactly huge) followed by a size-matching team to establish a label which has the potential to expand into something fine and dandy (favorable.)

Iron&Pin is all about pattern, detail and high-quality finish; as the homepage of the Iron&Pin website captions "Iron&Pin is the brainchild of Tom Hayden and was born in 2010, a unique concept of artisan craftsmanship inspired by the late teachings of his mother. Iron&Pin has a strong focus on the little details such as unique linings, without straying from the main importance of the overall pattern;" on that note, with the mentioned of words such aspattern, I think this was a destined find, just in time for the Summer period; I mean, who wouldn't want a pair of striped shorts, or a pocketed vest top when lounging in the sun, right? Currently Hayden is running an Iron&Pin July sale; all products which are listed on the Iron&Pin Online-Store can now be purchased with a rather admirable 50% off! Meaning that them shorts which are currently labeled as being £80 would be just £40 upon confirmation (despite the fact there is no label which states the reduction.) How do you grab that 50% off upon checkout? Simply enter the code "JULY" before confirming your order and that 'total value: ______' caption which instantly half (what a bargain!)
