HALSTON.....

I remember as a young man in high school in south Texas wearing Halston cologne in the 70′s and reading all the magazines that showed Halston, Andy Warhol, Bianca Jagger, DVF, Liza Minnelli, Liz Taylor and so many others partying at Studio 54.  You have no idea how much I wanted to be there and be a part of that history.  After rising in the fashion world in the 60′s as a milliner for Bergdorf Goodman (and famously Jacqueline Kennedy), Roy Halston Frowick launched his eponymous womenswear label in 1968.  The label is noted for its luxurious but minimalist, modern designs, like heavyweight cashmere evening dresses, ultrasuede wrap coats, and simple jersey sarongs. Halston died in 1990 of AIDS related causes and today this fashion house is back and at the helm of the steering wheel is Marios Schwab.  So when I spotted this Halston 2 piece number you know I had to grab it because in my opinion I consider Halston an American institution.  Good design is always good design and never has an expiration date on it just like this Halston 2 piece skirt with long jacket.  Get out there and search for your Halston!  Stop by doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta and follow me on Twitter & Facebook.  Please enjoy my YouTube channel too.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!
