When I was flipping through the jacket section in the thrift store the first thing my eyes rested onwas the tag by the collar that said ‘made in Italy’ and then when Iopened the jacket up to see the label I think I might have brieflypassed out. The label inside said Byblos and my heart sank a bit bringback warm memories of the 80′s when I was living in Dallas. Bybloslike Romeo Gigli were really big in the early 80′s and I couldn’tafford their wears then and no matter how many countless trips to thethrift stores in Dallas on a mission to find something from Gigli orByblos I would come up empty handed. I LOVE Byblos and have alwaysfollowed them hoping for the day that I would get lucky and findsomething in a thrift store. Well honey that day has come…. Whoactually knows just how long I was on the floor passed out but thatdoesn’t matter since in my clutches is this vintage floral Byblosjacket. Manuel Facchini is the creative director for Byblos now and hismantra is daring experimentalism that transcends all limits exceptthose dictated by the industrial design requirements that make Byblosthe workshop of the future. Always keep your eyes out for thislabel…you’ll thank me later… This ensemble consist of this greencotton tee by Velvet by Graham & Spencer with ruching on both sides of tee making this extremely contemporary. The slacks are by Charles NolanNew York and the plaid pattern is timeless and when you throw over thisfloral Byblos jacket and mix the patterns up like this you create anoutfit that is classic and modern. The added pop of the green from thetee really sends things over the edge which is where I like to be. Mixand match patterns and throw in a slash of color and I promise you’llcapture the attention of wondering eyes.
