Geoffrey Beene vintage 60′s tomato red gown….

This vintage late 60′s Geoffrey Beene tomato red gown with pockets is so sassy I don’t even know where to begin.  Every detail about this gown just screams out “CLASSIC”.  The waistband is elastic so the woman who wore this originally had room to enjoy herself at whatever cocktail party she wore this to.  There isn’t one thing wrong with this piece, this design- but again it’s from Geoffrey Beene and the man knew exactly what he was doing.  Geoffrey Beene, a single minded innovator who put fashion above commerce yet succeeded in making a business from originality.  Beene was American fashion’s designer who stood shoulder to shoulder with the great French couturiers.  His work is in the Costume Institute at The Met for Pete’s sake….  He was truly one of America’s greatest fashion designers so I will never turn my back on the opportunity to pillage a vintage Beene piece… NEVER.   I’m Daniel Troppy your vintage luxury curator!
