I love Elsa Peretti and if you are ever bored Google the name and read her history because it’s fascinating.  I got this email with photos from fellow thrifter Vanessa who couldn’t wait to share this with me.  I’m enormously proud of her for finding this Elsa Peretti for Tiffany belt because it truly is collectible and one worth looking for.  I haven’t found one yet but give me time, it’s been my mission for years to find this Elsa Peretti belt and one day I know the GODS will strike again…  here is here story with photos…  Enjoy.

Hi Daniel,

As promised, here are pics of my thrifted Peretti / Tiffany belt, and a little blurb to accompany it on your blog.  Thanks, as always, for your sweet FB message and for supporting us thrift-a-holics!

(By the way, on the same GW trip, I also scored some gorgeous St. John capri pants, a pair of funky black stiletto heels by John Fluevog, a brand new DVF silk blouse and a vintage ’70s red leather Halston handbag.  Paid $12.00 total for well over $1,000 worth of designer goodies!)

I went to Goodwill this morning, and was browsing the belt racks, when I saw this cool belt buckle shaped like an oblong bow. The buckle was badly tarnished, but the belt was good quality leather. I gave it a closer look and saw a hallmark reading “Peretti /Tiffany & Co. Italy (c) 1975. Sterling 925.”  JACKPOT!! Belts are 0.99 cents at my Goodwill, so of course I snatched it up!

When I got home, I did some googling and discovered that it’s a rare, discontinued design from the Else Peretti line. I found a listing on Ebay for the same belt (in red leather, instead of black) selling for $800!

Here are some pics of my amazing find. I used some silver polish on the buckle as soon as I got home. And I just painted my nails “For Audrey” by China Glaze earlier this morning. How foretelling!
