Here goes another blog post that I see & touch but don’t buy.  I tell you this haunts me too…  I saw this black with pink trim and the first thought was could this be a vintage Thierry Mugler jacket?  The lines & cut of this jacket really remind me of Mugler.  I got excited when I saw the Sak’s Fifth Avenue label and thought “it could be Mugler”.  I unzipped the jacket and saw the David Hayes label inside and smiled.  David Hayes is a California based design firm and I don’t believe they are still in production but his work was carried in Sak’s and Neiman Marcus during the 80′s….  I carried the jacket around with me and then I went over to the skirt section and started hunting for skirt when I ran across the matching skirt that when with the jacket.  It got separated at the thrift store and it took me to reunite them.  Every time I find a fabulous jacket, I always look for a matching skirt or slacks just in case.  To many times items like this get separated when they come into the donation center and that’s what happened with this David Hayes piece.  So once again I passed on the chance to save a vintage item and it haunts me to this second…..  Please recycle, reuse and reduce your landfill waste.  I’m Daniel Troppy your luxury curator!
