One Saturday afternoon a lady walks into my store and asked me how long has Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique been open. I told her this coming Sept it will be 3 years and she said that she had come into my store right when I opened and I was apparently very pleasant to her. Years later she remembered that kindness & me and when she came back on a Saturday afternoon she said “my aunt passed away and I really don’t want any of them and if you like to come by to see if there is something you want I would give it to you.” Few days go by and I go by her house and in a bedroom she had laid out some clothes and this Chanel 70′s jacket was amongst the group. This lady gave me this Chanel 70′s jacket that belonged to her aunt because I was nice to her and because she knew I could find it a great home. I walked out of her house after hugging her 37 times, thanking her for her generosity, and said to self “it really does pay to play nice with people….” The universe gives us gifts daily, its up to us to pay attention to them. I could have easily just said to myself when she walked in that Saturday afternoon “it’s going to be a complete bust Daniel so don’t go….” but I didn’t. I’m trying to tell myself to say YES every damn day of my life… say YES….. Thank you GODS for giving me this lovely gift.
