I just spent a week in Texas, shopping and spending time with my mom-dad and artist brother and more shopping! You can say all you want about Texas but the one thing you can’t say is that they don’t like to shop. I think Texans were born with am American Express in their hands and they all seem to know where Neiman Marcus is…. I took an entire week off and just shopped and hung out with family. I’m so lucky I have such love and support. While I was home my dad took an old pair of my mom’s shoes and nailed them into the tree to provide a birdhouse. He hopes that strong odor from inside the shoe won’t scare off the momma bird so she can start her family. My dad has always been like this, he was the man that invented the 5 minute shower!! He waste nothing and has instilled that logic into my brother and I. He respects Mother Nature and always has. When people meet my parents especially my dad they say the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree and in this case it’s not an apple but a shoe!! I love that my dad is always trying to keep things “green” and if you ever visit their house don’t ever let him see you leave the water faucet running while shaving or brushing your teeth because in Texas he will show you his gun, remember it’s Texas !
