I found this beautiful men’s Cacharel shirt in the thrift store and my heart kicked into nostalgia overtime.  I was living in Dallas in the mid 80′s and my good friend Shaheen’s, who is Persian, mother LOVED Cacharel and I do mean LOVE, this woman’s closet was lined with what today would be considered a vintage time capsule of Cacharel.  She LOVED their dresses and would buy them in Paris on every trip.  I can still her pronounce Cacharel in her Persian accent and say “oh it’s so French”…  Indeed.  Everything started in 1958 when Jean Bousquet, holder of a tailoring qualification, decided to “go to Paris” from Nimes to design his 1st creations in a tiny studio.  The resounding success of his very 1st collections prompted him to found the small company “Cacharel”, named after a bird of the Camague.  Today the creative directors are Dawei Sun & Ling Liu and they both are getting back to the traditional house code: freshness, romanticism and feminity.  50 years after its creation, Cacharel stills remains an iconic French brand, part of the ready-to-wear history, having created the silhouette of an assumed woman who likes to play with fashion without never having to suffer diktats.  Nowadays Cacharel is sold at Barney’s, Saks & Harvey Nichols as well as their free standing boutiques.  So let me just say that I will thoroughly enjoy this men’s Cacharel shirt and think back to those days in Dallas in the 80′s with my dear friend Shaheen with fondness.  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
