I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the Chanel label, still can’t believe my eyes…  It isnt’ everyday, every week, every month that I find Chanel inside a thrift store so you better believe when I do I               C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E !  I just kept thinking Coco would be so pleased with me for salvaging these classic black wool Chanel slacks from a thrift store so that I can blog about them and hold them up to high praise.  Yes yes I know there is also Burberry in this posting but I’m sorry it’s all about the Chanel slacks, sorry Burberry but you know I love & adore your brand except its rare that I get the chance to chit chat about Chanel.  Chanel (1883?-1971) is known as 1 of the greatest influential couturiers of the 20th century.  Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel got her start as a milliner around 1908.  Her 1st true collection was presented in 1922.  Throughout the 1920′s & 30′s her clothes were simple cut and easy to wear.  Early on she became known for her love of certain colors and color combinations, which today we consider to be “classics” – beige & black, navy blue, deep red & white.  She was an early designer of the black dress; some say she was the creator of the LBD.  Chanel closed during WWII but in 1954 staged a fashion comeback.  Her signature garment was a simple cardigan suit, and boy ole boy you know I would LOVE to find me a suitcase filled with vintage Chanel pieces.  I think I would crap a golden egg if that happened.  I think I’ve blabbed long enough now so please friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.  Stop by Doubletake and be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
