I stumbled upon a box of family photos from the 70′s in a thrift store and wondered howin the world does a box of family photos end up inside a thrift storefor sale? It was a huge selection of family photos ranging from school,Christmas, vacation photos you name it… just lots of ‘family’ photos.The photo that I really loved the most was the family portrait whereeveryone was dressed up and ready for their close ups Mr. DeMille.I remember my family taking our family portraits, my dad brother and Iwere in suits and not just any suits but leisure suits made from 100%pure polyester and my mom was wearing some fancy formal dress with bighead. Looking back at those photos you really do realize just how muchwe have lost the urge to get dressed up and take nice family photos.Such a pity… I found this entire ensemble inside the same thrift storeand put together this simple chic outfit that really does looksophisticated and modern. The top is a black cotton v neck by Theory which is wonderfully comfortable and modern then you add the black and white long skirt by Laundry by Shelli Segal to this equation and your recipe is ‘modern chic’. To really crank up the STYLE volume I throw in this Louis Feraudcropped wool little tight number jacket. The key today is dressing upin STYLE that is modern and comfortable. I would rather see a woman inthis ensemble than in some Christmas sweater’ish top (you know thebedazzled top), waistband polyester slacks with white tennisshoes…..Good god no and I mean no…. This is where the thrift storecomes in handy, you can always find STYLISH brands for any occasion.
