To say my heart sank when I saw this gown would be a complete understatement. I held it in my hands for quite some time just trying to digest the fact that I had found a vintage 70′s Bill Blass gown at the thrift store. Bill Blass is an iconic American designer that was from Indiana and who became every socialites go to guy. From Indiana to becoming the urbane man about town… not bad. In the early 70′s Bill Blass was a major US designer and the NYC party scene LOVED him. Blass continued to dress women in glamorous style, even in the unglamorous early 70′s. In 1975 he even brought back the cocktail dress, which had all but disappeared from the scene. I wonder what stories this gown has to tell because like all great vintage pieces there is always a story. Vintage Bill Blass is very collectible and worth a special spot in your closet… Be STYLISH go green. Daniel your luxury curator!
