This is from an old friend of mine Art Rietveld, no relations to Gerrit Rietveld that he knows of but there is always hope. Art is a serial thrifter / yard sale pro and I mean professional and you guys are going to die when you read what he found and his story so here goes….. Here’s my story:
On my usual Saturday morning yard sale excursion i came upon this interesting
three armed brass floor lamp. The lamp needed some minor work and i really
didn’t need another project but i could see the potential and purchased it for 100.00.
I did sent the pictures to a couple friends of mine that are knowledgeable in Mid century furniture and they recognized it as an original Arredoluce Three Arm Floor lamp designed
in the 1952 by Gino Sarfatti.
One like it had recently sold at auction for 8500.00.
