  Hi Apparel1. Thanks for the welcome message. I also love fashion even though I don't work directly in the fashion industry. I have been covering Toronto's Fashion Week for a few years now (for my Spanish language sites and blog) and that got me more interested in fashion as a business. Glad to have found this networking site (though I must say that only one day as a member and already I was contacted by a spammer). Cheers,

  Thanks for your message Apparel1. It seems this fall has taken off running, at least for me! Thank goodness, our order book was quite empty last spring with the economic crisis. Business is still very slow with the US market. Hopefully the accessory buyers will start new projects again soon.
  The Bijorhca show was very nice with many new creators of fashion jewellery. Unfortunately, the American buyers were not present for this important show. I hate to say that the poor American public will have choices between copied Chinese made or Indian made costume jewellery and the retail shops will be full of ugly unsold stocks again this year.

  This weekend is the Pret-a-Porter show in Paris. Is anyone attending? As a manufacturer of hair accessories, I will be looking at all the trends in colors and designs at the Bijourhca show as well. Looking forward to a great weekend in Paris!

  I am looking forward to Fashion Night Out events in NYC on September 10.
  I will be in an HBO documentary scheduled to be aired October 19 at 9pm.
  called " Schmata: Rags to Riches to Rags" it is about how the garment center in Manhattan is shrinking and the major job losses which have occured because of it.
  I was interviewed twice on camera by the producers/directors at HBO.
