Chloé is a French fashion house founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion. She and her partner, Jacques Lenoir, were among the first to become aware of the raising demand for collections that could merge the strict requirements of haute couture and those of ready-to-wear. The first collection is introduced at Le Café de Flore, one of their favorite cafes and the meeting place of artists in Paris.The collection was designed by Gaby Aghion and made by a first assistant at Lelong. Gaby Aghion and Jacques Lenoir start hiring young talented designers, who would eventually make a name of their own : Christiana Bailly, Michèle Rosier, Maxime de la Falaise, Graziella Fontana, Tan Giudicelli, Guy Paulin, Carlos Rodriguez. Chloé headquarters are in Paris. In 1971the first Chloé boutique opens at the 3 rue Gribeauval in Paris.

In 1985, the company is acquired by the Richemont group. Chloe is distributed through a network of boutiques in major cities (Paris, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Los Angeles, New York, Dubai) and in major resorts (Marbella, Las Vegas).
Probably nothing to do with the company, but did you know that "Chloe" (also Chloë, Cloe, Chlöe, Chloé, Kloe, Khloe, Khloë, Khloé, Kloé OR Kloë) is a popular first or given name for girls, especially in England? In Northern Ireland, Chloe was the most popular name for newborns from 1997 to 2002. The French spelling is Chloé. The name appears once in the Bible, in 1 Corinthians 1:11 in the context of "the house of Chloe".
