The entire world knows I have absolutely have zero respect for Tory Burch so I wanted to write a blog post about seeing a TB item at the thrift store and leaving it there… My eyes caught her catchy logo as I was walking inside the thrift store and so I stopped to check it out. It was a Tory Burch caftan, which you know I love my clients to have caftans, but I want my clients to have good caftans not ‘shmata’ (Yiddish word for RAGS) ones. The thrift store was selling the item for $4.49 and I didn’t even think about it for not even a fraction of a half second. You know it’s bad when even at a thrift store I would do aDionne Warwick and “Walk On By”…. When Tory Burch leaves her manufacturing clothing factories behind in China and bring them to NY garment district then I might cut her some slack until then no dice ! I was having a discussion the other day about Tory Burch and I said “you know she’s a billionaire now selling her unprincipled & penny – pinching items to women and I can’t figure it out…” My friend replied ” I don’t know either Daniel but if I were a billionaire at this point I would have to restructure my company if I were her…” I totally agree but the reality is greed. Greed keeps her cranking out uncreative & boring items and paying some Chinese underage child $1 a day seems to be her business plan. Even at a thrift store I walk away from this label….
