If I could have laid a golden egg, I believe I would have.  Right there on the spot when I saw this Sant’Angelo knit vintage maxi dress. It is over the TOP hot and ultra collectible with Kate Moss and Nicholas Ghesquiere buying up every vintage piece in sight.  Let me give you some history first: Giorgio de Sant’Angelo was born a nobleman in Florence Italy and became a huge American fashion designer.  He was known for creating ethnic-inspired looks early in his career, for which he won the prestigious American Coty Fashion Critic’s Award in 1970.  Using fabrics like tie-dye chiffon, leather & cotton, he created romantic clothing that reflected the hippie culture of the era.  But his innovative use of knitwear, which he continuously developed throughout his career, was often his signature and an influence on other designers.  He studied with Picasso for 6 months and as a result of Picasso’s encouragement, he made an animated cartoon, which he submitted to Walt Disney.  Impressed Disney brought him to Hollywood and gave him an apprenticeship.  Unable to speak English, he was lost in the vastness of LA and quit after 15 days.  Sant’Angelo moved to NYC and worked as a textile artist, and later worked in interior design.  For fun he made lucite jewelry and you know I’m dying to get my hands on that.  He shot fame in 1968, when Diana Vreeland chose him to create clothing for the model Veruschka on a fashion shoot in the Arizona desert.  The rest is history just history….  So when I saw the label inside this vintage maxi Sant’Angelo knit dress you know I was besides myself.  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
