To me it looks like someone or something completely chewed off the Oleg Cassini label inside this blouse but with my keen eye I recognized the label. I don’t know what happened to this label but it’s shredded and thank goodness that’s about the only thing on this piece that is. This vintage 80′s, with shoulder pads and all, Cassini blouse front & back makes any entrance premiere ready! Oleg Cassini had a very interesting life, his parents were Count & Countess Cassini, a family with ancestry that dates back to the First Crusade. Cassini was always intrigued by movies so off to Hollywood he went. He married a movie star and started creating magic for countless stars in Hollywood. Oleg Cassini is the first celebrity designer, becoming as well known as his famous clients. ’The Jackie Look’ by Oleg Cassini resonated worldwide. Edith Head, a significant designer in Hollywood said that ‘The Jackie Look’ is the single biggest fashion influence in history. So that said you know why when I see vintage Cassini in a thrift store I generally grab it. Mix this blouse with slate color Akris slacks and you just won the Academy Award for Best Dressed 2012. The Swiss family owned label Akris was created in 1922 and is today the most successful label you’re never heard of…. Crazy but true or is that sad but true????
