Paris is always on fire when Marc Jacobs is working on the Louis Vuitton collection. Talk about finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, when I found this men’s sky blue button up Louis Vuitton shirt hanging in the women’s rack of blouses at the Goodwill, I knew I scored!  My heart did it’s little pitter – patter  and I then when I saw the size and realized I pillaged myself a LV shirt at that moment the heavens opened up and the GODS smiled down at me.  In 1837, 16 year old Louis Vuitton became an apprentice to a Parisian luggage maker.  He established his own trunk-making business in 1854 and opened a retail outlet for selling them in Paris.  By 1886 the business had expanded with a store in London, but it was under Louis’s son Georges that the company gained its international reputation.  Georges Vuitton launched the famous LV logo canvas in 1896 in an attempt to stop the counterfeiting of Vuitton products.  Even back in the late 1890′s people were knocking them off!!!   Marc Jacobs was hired in 1997 as chief designer and in 1998 a LV line of clothing was launched.  That’s the history of LV in a tiny nutshell.  I shall wear this LV men’s shirt with a sense of pride and a splash of chuckles!!  Stop by Doubletake my social media driven boutique in Atlanta.  Toodles for now.  Daniel your luxury curator!
