I have to admit I’m obsessed with handbags (obviously www.CarryMePlease.com), however my personal all time favorite handbag to date is still the Balenciaga Covered Giant City handbag in Storm; a very soft, sultry, delicate pale blue. People either love or hate the hardware on these bags. I love it! It adds character and style, making it a bit edgy and then softened with exquisite lace detail. It’s a bit of a bad girl/good girl bag. Balenciaga is one of the few designers that can make a bag look modern, vintage, tough and feminine all in one bag. The continued popularity of the motorcycle bag grabs the attention of everyone, from young and old alike. I recently read about two women in their 70’s carrying these bags. I thought that was fabulous and I hope I’m still carrying a Balenciaga when I’m 70! On the flip side, I hope I’m not drawing on over-exaggerated eyebrows and lips, like my grandmother did : )
I have many reasons why I think everyone should own a Balenciaga, but I think this Purse Blog article (http://www.purseblog.com/balenciaga/5-reasons-why-everyone-should-own-a-balenciaga-bag.html ) sums it up perfectly:
1. Not everyone owns one and they never will!
· If you are lucky enough to find an authentic Balenciaga handbag, chances are you will never run into another woman carrying one. They are that rare, which would explain why you will rarely find them listed on sale (a lot of “inspired” bags to choose from though).
· They are highly sought after yet Balenciaga only makes so many each year, keeping them exclusive to own.
2. Even when their girly, they’re still edgy.
· A feminine balance of leather, lace and hardware. From the Harley to the Jazz Club.
3. Light as a feather but not stiff as a board.
· Extremely soft Italian leather but strong enough to last a life-time.
4. A shape for everyone and everyone in their shape.
· Balenciaga makes coin purses to travel bags and every shape and size in between.
· Whatever you need, they make it.
5. The colors! The colors!
· Almost any color you desire you will find it in this designers lines.
